In the main event of Survivor Series 2019, NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler defeated SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley and RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch in a triple threat match.
This was set up as the marquee contest of the night which could not live up to the hypes. Performances, as well as the execution of the contest, turned out to be pretty bad.
Reason Why Women Main-Evented WWE Survivor Series 2019
However, WWE had bigger intentions in mind while setting up this match. There were not much implications attached to the contest in the first place.
WWE Has Big Plans For Shayna Baszler After Main Roster Entry In 2020
Rather they wanted to set up a future match up the way the finishing was written. Shayna Baszler might have won the match but Becky Lynch was the one to stand tall that was an indication of a huge contest between these two.
Once Shayna Baszler won the match, Becky Lynch attacked her from behind to come up with an ambush. She put the NXT Women’s Champion through an announce table to keep her strong status intact.
According to the Wrestling Observer, this match was basically done to put Shayna over in front of a bigger audience on a bigger stage.

“WWE wants to put Shayna over big time because this Survivor Series outcome is expected to lead to a Becky Lynch vs. Shayna Baszler match sometime in 2020.
While Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey is rumored to take place at WrestleMania 36, Shayna would be a good replacement if Rousey is unable to make a return in time for WrestleMania.”
As reported earlier, Shayna Baszler is up to get a big push in the WWE. The officials are pretty much impressed with the former UFC superstar who should make her main roster debut, soon.
Vince McMahon is reportedly very high on this talent who should be getting the spotlight upon arriving at the big league from the NXT roster. Most probably, she may arrive on Raw or SmackDown once WrestleMania 36 passes by.
