It was earlier reported that the decision of letting the women superstars’ main-eventing Survivor Series turned out to be a wrong decision. The execution and performance of the superstars were not up to the mark. So giving the females another opportunity to steal the show in a pay-per-view event became a failure.

The officials were pretty upset about how the match went down and the crowd even did not like it. Vince McMahon himself was disappointed with the women’s triple threat Survivor Series main event match featuring NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler, SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley and Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch.

This particular Survivor Series match fell flat to a big proportion that was not a good sign especially considering it was one of the big-four events of the year.

This led to a rumor that Vince McMahon instructed the referee to create some high spots during the match (doing big bumps or crazy moves) so that the crowd can enjoy some mark-out moments.

However, Wrestling Observer reported that was not the case. McMahon was indeed upset but he did not want the match to happen otherwise apart from the given script. Here’s more from the source,

“There was a story going around Vince was so mad he was telling the ref high spots for them to do as the match was going on, but those in the company have only said McMahon was mad, saying he had every right to be but said he was not sending high spots to the referee while the match was going on.”

Survivor Series ended with a pretty big bump though as Becky Lynch went berserk on Shayna after the latter one picked up the victory by pinning Bayley. Becky put Shayna through the commentary table to close out the show in style.

Also, we should note that despite the bad performance at Survivor Series, there must not be any fallouts on either one of them.

WWE plans a big main roster debut for Shayna Baszler in the near future when she leaves NXT and that should be intact. On the other hand, Becky Lynch should continue his title reign until WrestleMania arrives.
