WWE Smackdown Preview (24/09/21): Title Match; Extreme Rules Go-Home Episode

WWE will present the final episode of SmackDown before Extreme Rules 2021, this week. Universal Championship will be the pivotal point of the show while the Intercontinental Championship will be on the line. Liv Morgan will be in action against Zelina Vega in a singles contest. Also, Happy Corbin will debut a new talk-show on the episode that takes place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Roman Reigns has a huge chip on his shoulder, as of this writing as Brock Lesnar has his sights set on the Universal Championship picture. But before crossing paths with The Beast, he will meet a Demon, this Sunday night. At Extreme Rules, Finn Balor’s demon version will be waiting for him with the Universal Title hanging on the line.

WWE Smackdown Preview (24/09/21): Title Match; Extreme Rules Go-Home Episode 1

Back on this week’s RAW, Roman Reigns picked up two huge victories which were enough to solidify his undisputed top spot in the WWE. But if anyone can defy that position, it’s certainly the Demon King who is yet to be defeated in the WWE. That being said, we expect Balor’s alter-ego to bring one final message before the title match to the Tribal Chief on SmackDown.

WWE Smackdown Preview (24/09/21): Title Match; Extreme Rules Go-Home Episode 2

Last week, Liv Morgan and Toni Storm defeated Carmella and Zelina Vega via count-out after Mella thought her nose was ruptured by Morgan. After the match, a frustrated Morgan issued a challenge to Carmella for Extreme Rules and promised to make her look even uglier at the PPV.

Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville later confirmed Morgan vs. Carmella for the pay-per-view in a backstage segment in the trainer’s room. Vega was present, there who stated that if Morgan wants Carmella at Extreme Rules then she will have to face her on this week’s SmackDown. Since then, WWE has confirmed Morgan vs. Vega for tonight in a rematch as the feud between the two should culminate with this match.

WWE Extreme Rules 2021: Stipulation Announced; Changes Made To Title Match

WWE Intercontinental Championship will be defended on this Extreme Rules go-home edition of SmackDown where the champion King Shinsuke Nakamura will defend his title against Apollo Crews. This is going to be Crews’ rematch for the title after Nakamura won the belt back on the August 13 edition of SmackDown.

Last week, Rick Boogs defeated Robert Roode in a singles contest with Nakamura and Dolph Ziggler watching from ringside. After the match, Boogs and Nakamura celebrated with SmackDown commentator Pat McAfee until Crews and Commander Azeez attacked the babyfaces.

The heel duo destroyed Nakamura and Boogs at ringside and left them laying. Crews then took the mic and declared that Nakamura didn’t try to elevate the prestige of the Intercontinental Title, so he’s coming to take it back. WWE has since confirmed that Crews will get his rematch for the title.

WWE Smackdown Preview (24/09/21): Title Match; Extreme Rules Go-Home Episode 3

Happy Baron Corbin has been announced to premiere his new talk-show segment during this Friday’s WWE SmackDown episode. This will help to elevate the ongoing feud between Kevin Owens and Corbin. Corbin has delivered sneak attacks on the Prizefighter on two consecutive occasions.

Now, WWE has made an announcement regarding the show informing,

“Don’t miss the world premiere of ‘Happy Talk’ with Happy Corbin this Friday! Whether he is sporting a brand-new Bentley, expounding on the virtues of Wagyu beef or just launching sneak attacks on Kevin Owens, everything has been coming up aces for Happy Corbin since he reclaimed his fortune in Las Vegas several weeks ago. Now, prepare yourself as Corbin shares his special brand of chaotic joy with the world premiere of WWE’s newest talk show.”

WWE Extreme Rules 2021: Stipulation Announced; Changes Made To Title Match

Per WWE’s announcement, “The Demon” Finn Balor vs. Roman Reigns at Extreme Rules 2021 for the Universal Championship will be an Extreme Rules matchup. This type of matchup is hosted under No-DQ rules where anything is legal and but will continue until a winner is declared via pinfall or submission.

The stipulation for the title match at Extreme Rules 2021 was announced after this week’s non-title RAW main event match, which saw Roman Reigns defeat Bobby Lashley and WWE Champion Big E in a Triple Threat. Prior to that, Reigns and The Usos also defeated The New Day in a tag team match in the opener of the show. This was Reigns’ first outing on Raw since 2019 and he literally dominated in the outing to send a message to his opponent.

The Demon Finn Balor is undefeated in his career, to date but so is The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns since his return, last year. At present, the champion is pretty favorite to retain his title, per the betting odds. It’s likely that The Demon’s undefeated streak will come to an end at the upcoming PPV event.

Jeff Hardy vs. Sheamus vs. WWE United States Champion Damian Priest has also been made official for WWE Extreme Rules 2021. The PPV go-home edition of RAW from the PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina saw Hardy defeat Sheamus in singles action. Per the stipulation of the match, Hardy has now earned a spot in the title match. The previously announced lineup for the US Title match for Sunday’s PPV was Sheamus vs. Priest in a singles contest.

WWE Extreme Rules 2021: Stipulation Announced; Changes Made To Title Match 16

Speculations suggested that A Tables Match stipulation could be added to the United States Title bout at Extreme Rules 2021, but as of this writing, WWE is yet to add that stipulation to the card. That being said, five title matches have been announced for the most extreme night of the year.

WWE Extreme Rules 2021: Champions Are Favorite To Retain

WWE will present Extreme Rules 2021, this weekend with a solid card where multiple championships will be on the line. The specialty about this night is that most of the matchups take place under gimmicks. To date, WWE is yet to confirm any gimmick matches but announcements are likely to happen during the go-home episodes of Raw and Smackdown, this week.

The early betting odds are now out for Extreme Rules 2021 and it appears that all the champions are all favorites at the moment, according to the odds published by BetOnline. Without a doubt, WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is the biggest favorite to retain his belt as he stands at -800 against Finn Balor’s +450.

WWE Extreme Rules 2021: New Match Announced; Updated PPV Card

WWE Extreme Rules 2021: Champions Are Favorite To Retain 29

This is an interesting situation as WWE feeds The Demon Finn Balor to the Tribal Chief at Extreme Rules 2021. The demon character of Balor has been undefeated as it’s one of the most protected characters in WWE history. But that’s likely coming to an end at the hands of Roman Reigns, this Sunday, a move that most of the fans may not like. But then again, WWE has to continue with Reigns’ undefeated streak, as well.

WWE RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair (-150) is a slight favorite against Alexa Bliss (+110). This is a fresh feud on Raw that has just begun and we assume the angle will continue even after WWE Extreme Rules 2021. It won’t make sense, either if WWE ends another title run of Flair in a quick fashion.

WWE Extreme Rules 2021: Champions Are Favorite To Retain 30

Becky Lynch is also a favorite to retain her title as she stands at -350 against Bianca Belair +200. This match will mark the first title defense for The Man since her return at Summerslam. A win is a must for her as she is likely to stay on top of the Smackdown Women’s division for months to follow. After defeating Belair, Lynch would move forward to her next challenge, possibly Liv Morgan who is booked in a match against Carmella.

Early odds for WWE Extreme Rules 2021

However, odds for WWE SmackDown Champions The Usos vs. Street Profits, and Liv Morgan vs. Carmella weren’t published. Extreme Rules 2021 takes place on September 26 at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. Check out the early betting odds at a glance,

Becky Lynch (c) -350 vs. Bianca Belair +200 (WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship)

Charlotte (c) -150 vs. Alexa Bliss +110 (WWE RAW Women’s Championship)

Damian Priest (c) -500 vs. Sheamus +300 (WWE US Championship)

Roman Reigns (c) -800 vs. Finn Balor +450 (WWE Universal Championship)

WWE Extreme Rules 2021: New Match Announced; Updated PPV Card

In response to the poor booking of the women’s division, WWE has now confirmed a new matchup for Extreme Rules 2021. Carmella vs. Liv Morgan has been made official for the show in what appears to be a matchup between the two underutilized performers. It will be a big deal for the two as they share the ring in a PPV show.

This week’s SmackDown on FOX saw Morgan and Toni Storm defeat Carmella and Zelina Vega via count-out after Carmella assumed that her nose was broken by Morgan. After the match, Morgan issued a challenge to Carmella for Extreme Rules 2021. She also promised to make her look as ugly on the outside as she is from the inside.

WWE Officials Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville later confirmed Morgan vs. Carmella for Extreme Rules 2021 during a segment in the trainer’s room. Vega then declared that in order to get Carmella at the PPV, Morgan first has to face her next Friday on the go-home SmackDown episode. WWE then also announced Morgan vs. Vega match lineup for next Friday.

Morgan and Carmella have been feuding all this summer. While Mella has been wasting opportunities, Morgan barely gets one, which is the main issue of the storyline. Carmella defeated Morgan on the June 4 SmackDown, while Morgan then pinned Carmella on the June 11 and June 25 SmackDown shows.

Carmella vs. Liv Morgan booking at Extreme Rules 2021 has also received praise on the internet since WWE nixed out a tag team match scheduled for the bygone MSG edition, last week. Not only the same tag-team lineup was hosted this week but two of those names will now get to share the ring at a PPV. Plus, this will also mark the first singles outing for Liv Morgan on a PPV card.

WWE Smackdown Preview (17/09/21): Roman Reigns-Finn Balor Feud Continues

A week after the historic Madison Square Garden edition, SmackDown will continue the buildup for the upcoming PPV event, Extreme Rules. Roman Reigns and his Universal Championship remains the central point of the show toward which a Demon is now coming after. Also, there will be fallouts from last week’s when WWE’s blue brand returns with the latest episode from the Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tennessee.

WWE Super SmackDown on FOX from MSG saw the return of Finn Balor’s alter-ego, The Demon. It also marked the return of Brock Lesnar on the blue brand and both these men are focused on getting their hands on the Universal Championship possessed by Roman Reigns.

Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman, and SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos were dominated by The Beast Incarnate in the opening segment of the show. Lesnar also challenged Reigns for the Universal Title and that match will be happening at Crown Jewel 2021. But for now, Balor’s Demon King has received a title shot at Extreme Rules 2021.

WWE Smackdown Preview (17/09/21): Roman Reigns-Finn Balor Feud Continues 57

A couple of weeks ago, Reigns defeated Balor in a singles contest to retain his title but that win wasn’t a clean one due to interference by The Usos. As a result, he received the rematch over the title.

Then following the main event match of Super SmackDown between The Usos and The Street Profits, we witnessed the return of the Demon avatar of Balor after a hiatus of almost two years. The Demon hit the ring and faced off with Reigns as fans cheered to sent MSG show off the air. We bet there will be consequences, this week from that segment.

Speaking of last week’s main event, The Usos retained their SmackDown Tag Team Titles against Street Profits but that happened as a result of a disqualification after Reigns hit the ring and attacked Ford and Dawkins. Reigns also punished Ford with the Guillotine Chokehold submission as it appears a rematch for the tag belts should be waiting at Extreme Rules with some sort of stipulations.

WWE Smackdown Preview (17/09/21): Update on Edge’s future

WWE Smackdown Preview (17/09/21): Roman Reigns-Finn Balor Feud Continues 58

Seth Rollins defeated Hall of Famer Edge in a rematch from SummerSlam at the MSG episode of SmackDown. Not only that, but the Curb Stomp from him also sent the Rated-R Superstar, straight to the hospital. The question remains whether this has sent Edge to a hiatus, for now, or another rematch against Rollins will be waiting at Extreme Rules 2021.

A match from the women’s division with the lineup being Carmella and Zelina Vega vs. Liv Morgan and Toni Storm was reportedly taken out of the MSG card as Edge vs. Seth Rollins went overtime. All the superstars of that match was really frustrated as we hope the match gets placed on this episode of SmackDown. Also, a segment to continue the rivalry between Kevin Owens and Baron Corbin was also put aside due to time constraints which should be out back on the card on the latest episode from WWE’s blue brand.

WWE Raw Preview (13/09/21): Lashley vs. Orton; US Title Open Challenge

Approaching to Extreme Rules PPV event, WWE Raw will present a loaded episode, this week with the headliner being a title match. Bobby Lashley will defend the WWE Title against Randy Orton in a singles contest. The US title will also be on the line when Damian Priest throws an Open Challenge to the roster. Rhea Ripley will face a women’s tag team champion while Charlotte Flair will also be in action on the show set from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.

WWE Champion Bobby Lashley will defend against one-half of WWE RAW Tag Team Champions, Randy Orton, tonight. As announced by WWE, last week, RAW was supposed to feature Orton and Riddle defending their tag titles against Lashley and MVP while Orton vs. Lashley for the WWE Title was also announced for the Extreme Rules pay-per-view on September 26.

But then a commercial aired during the bygone episode of SmackDown where Orton vs. Lashley was advertised for WWE RAW. Then WWE has officially announced the WWE Title match on the official website as well as on social media profiles. The match has since been removed from the Extreme Rules card while the PPV graphic remains the same around this match.

WWE issued the following storyline explanation for preponing this mega encounter,

“They don’t want to wait for WWE Extreme Rules. Bobby Lashley will defend his WWE Championship against Randy Orton this Monday on Raw! Raw Tag Team Champion Orton will look to add another title to his collection as he tries to capture his 15th World Championship, while The All-Mighty is out for some serious payback after falling victim to an RKO two weeks in a row. Who will emerge as WWE Champion? Find out on Raw, live this Monday at 8/7 C on USA Network!”

It’s very much possible that Orton vs. Lashley will go down on Raw while WWE will schedule the rematch between the two with an added stipulation at Extreme Rules.

Last week, Sheamus earned a clean pinfall victory over Drew McIntyre to become the new number-one contender for the mid-card title.

The newly formed team on Raw picked up the win to become the new number-one contenders for the tag team titles.

WWE Raw Preview (13/09/21): Lashley vs. Orton; US Title Open Challenge 73

WWE RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair will also be in action against Shayna Baszler in a singles contest. Last week, Flair retained her title against Baszler’s tag team partner Nia Jax after Baszler provided Jax with a shocking distraction. This seemingly has set up a future feud between Jax and Baszler while Flair is set to put her title on the line at Extreme Rules against Alexa Bliss.

WWE Raw Preview (13/09/21): Lashley vs. Orton; US Title Open Challenge 74

A huge tag team action will go down on WWE Raw when The New Day – Kofi Kingston and Xavier Wood team up with Mansoor and Mustafa Ali against the team of AJ Styles, Omos, T-BAR, and MACE. All these four teams were involved in a tag team turmoil matchup to earn an opportunity to the tag team titles. Lashley and MVP won that bout to get a shot at the titles.

Extreme Rules 2021: Changes Made To WWE And Universal Title Matches

Earlier this week, Randy Orton vs. Bobby Lashley for the WWE Title was announced for the Extreme Rules 2021 pay-per-view. WWE had also announced that next Monday’s RAW would feature Orton and Riddle defending their tag team titles against Lashley and MVP. This came after Lashley and MVP won a Gauntlet Eliminator, this week to capture the number-one contender’s spot for those titles.

A commercial then aired during Super SmackDown where Orton vs. Lashley was preponed for this coming episode of RAW. It was clearly noted that the WWE Champion will defend against one-half of RAW Tag Team Champions, Orton on Monday’s RAW.

That being said, this match has been removed from WWE Extreme Rules 2021 listing. While the WWE website still has the PPV graphic for Orton vs. Lashley, the match has been removed from the actual card on the WWE website.

The official website of WWE brought out a preview for the upcoming match between Orton vs. Lashley saying that they do not want to wait for Extreme Rules 2021. There’s no mention of the nixed tag team match although it’s likely that the tag titles match won’t be happening, this week. It’s also possible that Orton vs. Lashley rematch will be added back to the PPV card with some sort of stipulation.

Reigns to face The Demon at Extreme Rules 2021

WWE has officially announced that Finn Balor’s alter-ego The Demon King will be challenging WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at Extreme Rules 2021. As seen on Smackdown, Balor brought back The Demon personal by the end of the show from MSG in New York City after which the lineup was confirmed.

Roman Reigns’ Title Match Announced For WWE Extreme Rules 2021

WWE has officially announced the next Universal Title defense for Roman Reigns at Extreme Rules 2021. In a rematch from last Friday’s SmackDown on FOX episode, The Tribal Chief will defend his belt against Finn Balor.

The September 3 episode of SmackDown saw Roman Reigns retaining over Balor in the main event match. Balor was attacked by SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos before the match began. Since Balor wasn’t 100 percent before competing in that match, storyline-wise, WWE set up the rematch where Balor can receive his one-on-one rematch with perhaps some sort of added stipulations.

Charlotte Flair is all set to defend her Raw Women’s Title at the coming Extreme Rules 2021 PPV event, later this month. By the confirmations from WWE, RAW Women’s Title match for the event is now official where the champion will defend against Alexa Bliss. WWE made the match official after this week’s episode RAW went off the air.

As seen on Raw, WWE RAW Women’s Title Match was scheduled on the show with the lineup being Nia Jax vs. Charlotte Flair. Jax was in control of the match as she headed to the top rope for a super Samoan Drop from up there. But surprisingly, Shayna Baszler provided her with the distraction which allowed the champion to capitalize.

Extreme Rules 2021: WWE And United States Title Match Confirmed

WWE Title match has become official for the Extreme Rules 2021 pay-per-view. The match will see Bobby Lashley defending the prime belt against RAW Tag Team Champion Randy Orton. This falls in line with the earlier report from Wrestling Observer who already confirmed the Orton vs. Lashley lineup following the RKO by Orton on the champion, last week.

This week’s RAW opening segment saw Orton proposing a title shot for Lashley’s WWE Championship, and MVP suggested it for Extreme Rules 2021. The challenge was accepted while Lashley has also promised that he and MVP will capture the RAW Tag Team Titles so that he can become a double champion. This same demand was shown, last week, two.

The storyline progressed in a way that MVP and Lashley are trying to get put into the main event RAW Tag Team Turmoil match to become the new number-one contenders to Orton and Riddle. Eventually, they did end up winning that contest. That being said, Raw Tag Team Titles will be on the line where Team R-K-Bro will defend against Lashley and MVP on Raw, just two weeks before WWE Extreme Rules 2021.

Damien Priest to defend at Extreme Rules 2021

WWE United States Title match has also become official for the Extreme Rules 2021 event. In this match, the champion Damian Priest will defend his title against Sheamus, the former champion. Back at SummerSlam 2021, Priest defeated Sheamus in a singles contest via clean pinfall to win the mid-card title for the first time in his career.

Then Sheamus became the new number-one contender by defeating Drew McIntyre in a Number-one Contender’s match on this week’s RAW. Sheamus picked up the win with a handful of tights which the referee never spotted.

Extreme Rules 2021 will be Priest’s second title defense on TV since winning the strap from Sheamus at SummerSlam. On last week’s Raw, Priest retained over Sheamus and McIntyre in a Triple Threat where he pinned McIntyre for the title retention.
