SL vs IND Dream11 Prediction, Fantasy Cricket Tips, Playing XI, Pitch Report and Injury Update- India Tour of Sri Lanka 2021

Sri Lanka vs India Dream11 Prediction, Fantasy Cricket Tips, Playing XI, Pitch Report, and Injury Update of 3rd ODI match. Sri Lanka and India will lock horns against each other in the three-match ODI series for the second time. The visitors won the first encounter comprehensively by 7 wickets and the second by 3 wickets.

SL vs IND 3rd ODI Match Preview:

On the 23rd of July, Sri Lanka will face India in the 3rd ODI Match at R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.

The first ODI between India and Sri Lanka turned out to be an overly one-sided affair. The Men in Blue came out firing on all cylinders and won the match by seven wickets with as many as 80 balls to spare. The young Prithvi Shaw became the Player of the Match after his flying start in India’s run-chase.  Though their batters put up a fight, the Lankan bowlers looked hapless, especially in the powerplay.

The first ODI was about showing their class and authority. The second ODI showed the character and resilience of the side when India, holding the hands of Deepak Chahar and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, came back from 193 for 7, to chase down the 276-run target with five balls to spare.

The Shikhar Dhawan-led side will be high on confidence when they take on a mentally disintegrated Sri Lankan side in the third ODI in Colombo on Friday.

The hosts would look to bounce back and avoid the whitewash.

Deepak Chahar Reveals Rahul Dravid Told Him To Play All The Balls

Deepak Chahar spoke about his match-winning innings in the 2nd ODI against Sri Lanka after the 2nd ODI’s conclusion and revealed what he was told by head coach Rahul Dravid. Deepak Chahar on Tuesday night garnered all the attention as he played a remarkable inning to take India home in the 2nd ODI in Colombo.

When Deepak Chahar was batting in the middle, former India captain and head of this Sri Lanka series Rahul Dravid was seen having a few anxious moments inside the dressing room. After leading India to an improbable 3-wicket win by hitting his maiden ODI fifty, Deepak Chahar revealed what Rahul Dravid had told him before walking out to bat on Tuesday.

Deepak Chahar Reveals Rahul Dravid Told Him To Play All The Balls

After the dismissal of Suryakumar Yadav, who also notched his maiden ODI fifty and ended up scoring 53 off 44 balls, Deepak Chahar and Bhuvneshwar Kumar teamed up and stitched an unbeaten 84-run stand for the eighth wicket to finish the chase successfully.

Deepak Chahar was the top scorer for India, returning unbeaten 69 to bag the Player of the Match award. After the game, the 28-year-old spoke about his innings and revealed what he was told by head coach Rahul Dravid.

“No better way to win the match for the country. Rahul sir told me to play all the balls. I’ve played a few innings with India A and I think he has belief in me. He told me he thinks I’m good enough to be a No. 7. He has belief in me. Hopefully, in the coming matches I don’t have to bat,” Chahar said at the post-match presentation ceremony.

“It was a decent score [to chase] on this wicket. Only one thing that was going on in my mind: this is the kind of innings I’ve been dreaming of. When we came under 50 is when I believed we can win. Before that, it was ball by ball. I took some risks after,” he concluded.

Deepak Chahar’s unbeaten 69 is the 2nd highest score by an Indian No.8 in ODIs. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja stands on the top of the list with his knock of 77 runs against New Zealand in the 2019 World Cup in Manchester. The visitors have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. India will face Sri Lanka in the third and the final match of the series on Thursday at the same venue.

Deepak Chahar’s 69 Scripted Visitors India’s Series Sealing Victory In The 2nd ODI

Tail-ender Deepak Chahar brought India back from the dead with a steely 69* off 82 balls and script the visiting team’s series-sealing victory in the second ODI against Sri Lanka on Tuesday. Chasing 276, India was down and out at 193 for seven before Deepak Chahar and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (19 not out off 28) forged an unbeaten 84-run stand to seal a memorable win for the visitors who extended their record of not losing an ODI on Sri Lanka soil since 2012.

Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar Yadav (BCCI)

Deepak Chahar, whose highest score before this game was a mere 12, showed remarkable resolve and composure under pressure to take his team over the line with five balls to spare. He fittingly hit the winning boundary.

Earlier, Suryakumar Yadav and Krunal Pandya stitched a 44-run stand before Deepak Chahar produced a stunner from nowhere for a remarkable win. Earlier, in Sri Lanka’s innings, leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal led India’s decent effort with the ball. Pretty much like the series opener, most of the Sri Lankan batsmen got starts but failed to capitalize after the hosts opted to bat.
Avishka Fernando (50 off 71) and Charith Asalanka (65 off 68) struck fine half-centuries but the home team wasn’t disciplined enough to post an imposing total. Chamika Karunaratne (44 not out off 33) came up with another timely cameo to take the team past 270.
Yuzvendra Chahal (3/50) was the pick of the bowlers while pacers Deepak Chahar (2/53) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (3/54) too got wickets primarily due to the profligacy of the home team batsmen. Openers Avishka Fernando (50 off 71) and Minod Bhanuka (36 off 42) took Sri Lanka to 59 for loss in the first 10 overs.
India 277 for 7 (Chahar 69*, Suryakumar 53, Hasaranga 3-37) beat Sri Lanka 275 for 9 (Asalanka 65, Fernando 50, Chahal 3-50)

He highlighted team India’s “mental strength and courage” throughout the 4-Test series as the main driving force behind their exploits.

“It doesn’t matter what happens here at the Gabba over these final two days,” said  Sunil Gavaskar. “We Indians can and will be truly proud of our cricketers. “The tour has tested India not just physically but mentally as well. They have been living in a bio-bubble since their arrival from the UAE in November last year after spending nearly 3 months in a bio-secure environment at the IPL 2020. The resolve, fortitude and spirit displayed by these players has been inspiring. Most have been away from home and in the horrid team for over five months. They have been routed in the most crushing way and with the world watching.” added Sunil Gavaskar.

Gavaskar is well aware of how badly the squad is ravaged by injuries and applauds every member’s efforts for their character coming from rather difficult situations.

“They have seen friends battered and broken. They have been tested for their mental and cricketing limits at every turn, every minute. And even under that most intense train, they have never stopped fighting. And they may still somehow manage to take the trophy home.” The batting great further said. gives you a chance to bet on all the cricket action from all parts of the world.

“A trophy that was named to honour me and the great Allan Border. A captain who embodied everything we have seen in this series – mental toughness and skill. I know you Australians respect that most of all in yourself and your opponents. And I know you will always remember what these Indians have achieved this summer.” remarked Sunil Gavaskar.

‘Matthew Wade Can Be A Makeshift Opener For Australia In The Test Series’- Michael Clarke

Former Australian skipper Michael Clarke has said that Matthew Wade can be a good option for Australia to open the innings against India in the upcoming Test series.

Like the Indian cricket team, the Kangaroos have also been marred with injuries. Their regular opener, David Warner has been ruled out of the first Test, owing to the groin injury he suffered in the second ODI against India.

Will Pucovski, another Australian opener who could have opened for the Kangaroos has suffered a concussion in the first unofficial Test match as he was hit dangerously on the head by Indian pacer Kartik Tyagi. This, Clarke believe Matthew Wade can open for Australia.

Michael Clarke Reckons Matthew Wade Can Open The Innings For Australia

With Cameron Green making a case for his selection with a hundred against India ‘A’, Clarke feels in that case Wade should be pushed up the batting order.

“If you’re going to pick (all-rounder) Cameron Green then you’ve got to find another spot for Wadey,” Clarke told AAP.

“He’s got to be in that starting XI but that could be anywhere in that team. That could be opening the batting if need be. I think Wadey can do that.”

Former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman, Parthiv Patel has said that Rohit Sharma should lead team India in the T20 format and should captain the side in the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup. Patel announced retirement from all forms of cricket yesterday.

Just after his retirement, Parthiv’s big statement should not go down too well with his former RCB skipper and the current captain of the Indian cricket team across all formats, Virat Kohli.

Parthiv Patel Backs Rohit Sharma To Lead India In The T20I Format

“Rohit Sharma has shown us how to build a team. He has shown us how to win a tournament. I think there is no harm in giving him the captaincy in one format. This will also relieve Virat Kohli of some pressure,” Parthiv was quoted as saying to Sports Tak.

“With him (Rohit) winning so many tournaments, it will be interesting to see how he takes decisions under pressure. Mumbai Indians does not have a settled team every season, but Rohit Sharma has shown that he knows how to build players and show results,” he stated.

“According to me for the T20 World Cup, if Rohit Sharma is fit to play, he should be given the captaincy ahead of the tournament,” Parthiv added.

Rifts Have Emerged Between Rohit Sharma And Virat Kohli Over The Years

It was after the ICC 2019 Cricket World Cup that rumours of a rift between Rohit and Virat have taken the Indian cricket by storm. The rift was clearly visible in this year’s IPL as both the skippers didn’t even face each other when they met for the first time in IPL 2020.

Rohit’s unavailability in the Indian team on the Australian tour came as a massive blow for a lot of cricket fans and experts and legends of the game have questioned his position in team India. Reportedly, the BCCI held talks between both the players after Virat’s statement on Rohit’s unavailability prior to the Australian tour.

Aakash Chopra Fires Shots At Shreyas Iyer For Not Living Upto The Expectations Against Australia

Former Indian opener and a veteran analyst of cricket, Aakash Chopra, has taken aim at Shreyas Iyer for not performing well in the limited-overs format against Australia. Iyer led his franchise, Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2020 final this year.

He was handed the captaincy of the franchise midway in 2018 and in 2019, in his first full season as the skipper, he carried Delhi Capitals (DC) to the playoffs and this year, he went a step ahead as DC played the final of IPL 2020 against Mumbai Indians (MI).

Aakash Chopra Takes Aim At Shreyas Iyer

“It’s important that around Kohli, there are players who can score quickly. Sanju Samson will look behind this series and as will Shreyas Iyer, because at the end of the day, Iyer had been given opportunities – be it ODIs or T20Is. He came into this series with a reputation but he wasn’t able to live up to the expectations. I think he will be very disappointed,”  Aakash Chopra said in a video uploaded by Cricbuzz.

“He is the captain of the Delhi Capitals and had performed well also earlier but the series was stop-start for him. Also, whenever he got the start, he couldn’t convert it into a big innings. First, he got out to a bouncer and then when he was playing well, he couldn’t play the long innings. When that happens, the questions will be asked,” Aakash Chopra said on his channel.

‘It Seems Hardik Pandya’s Batting Software Has Got Upgraded Since He Left Bowling’- Aakash Chopra

Former Indian opener, Aakash Chopra has put forward his opinion on Hardik Pandya’s batting saying it has grown by leaps and bounds since he stopped bowling regularly. Pandya made an exceptional change in the scoreboard at the last moment by achieving 92* and has earned appreciation for the same in the last ODI against Australia.

Aakash Chopra made this observation while lauding the Baroda all-rounder’s exceptional knock in the third ODI against Australia in a video shared on his YouTube channel. Aakash Chopra started by praising Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja for their match-winning partnership.

“It seems Hardik Pandya’s batting software has got upgraded since he left bowling. Hardik Pandya is batting as per the demands of the situation. He plays defensively at the start and after that bats aggressively. He picks the bowlers. Earlier he used to pick the spinners only but now he even hits the fast bowlers in a democratic fashion. He is growing in stature and how. And let me recommend, I feel he should be played at No.5 in T20 cricket,” Chopra further stated.

Will Go With Hardik Pandya For Man Of The Match: Aakash Chopra

“Ravindra Jadeja is a candidate, Shardul Thakur is the other candidate and the third one is Hardik Pandya. I am going with Hardik because if he had not scored those runs, this game was over as India was already five down,” he said in this in his YouTube video.

“He actually deserved a century. In fact, he has been outstanding throughout the series. He has done exceedingly well and he is just claiming a spot as a batsman. It is heartening to see the maturity, calmness and awareness Hardik Pandya is showing as a batsman. I am so so happy for Hardik for the chart of his growth. Just keep getting better,” Chopra further said.

Aakash Chopra also tweeted about Hardik’s calmness and maturity.
