Kofi Kingston Reveals He Got To Know About The Plans Of This Week’s RAW From Social Media

Former 14 times WWE Tag Team Champion Kofi Kingston who is also a former WWE World Champion recently talked about getting to know about the plans of this week’s Monday Night RAW. He revealed that he got to know about the plans for this week’s RAW from the social media.

Last week RAW was quite special and important for a number of reasons. It was one of the most important weeks of this year so far. One of the biggest reasons of this week being important because of Big E winning the WWE Championship and ending The Almighty era. This was his first WWE Championship win, and surely many more to come.

Kofi Kingston Reveals He Got To Know About The Plans Of This Week’s RAW From Social Media

WWE is trying to build Big E as the new face of the promotion. They were trying to boost him as the new face of the promotion for quite a long time. It is rumoured that he was Vince McMahon’s pick for winning the Royal Rumble match this year. But for some reason the push was delayed and he finally won the Money in the Bank ladder match, now the WWE Championship.

Even though it was a very important week of Monday Night RAW, it was quite poorly booked. Revealing the fact that E was going to cash in later in the night was a terrible booking we believe. And there should have been an involvement of Goldberg to cost Lashley the title. It could have been more meaningful and fans would have loved it more.

Kofi Kingston who is a former WWE World Champion recently revealed spoke to 106 KMEL where he that he got to know about the plans for this week’s RAW from the social media. He said;

“You would be surprised. Usually, as performers, we are the last one’s to find things out. This week and last week, I found out on Twitter what I was doing on Raw. It was announced I would be in an eight-man tag team match and I was like, ‘Oh, good to know. I gotta prepare.’ Same thing last week when we had the tag team turmoil, I had no idea until I looked on social media and I saw it.

“If I didn’t look on social media, I wouldn’t have known until I got to the building. Oftentimes, we have no idea what the show is going to entail or what we’re supposed to be doing. Even sometimes when we do know, it always changes. That’s the bittersweet part of being a WWE superstar.

“If you’re somebody who needs to know exactly what is happening, when it’s happening, and step for step, you’re going to be real upset working here because everything changes. I think it’s a good thing, keeps everyone on their toes.”

Kofi Kingston Shares His Nervousness Over Big E’s Title Win

Former WWE World Champion Kofi Kingston who is also a former fourteen times WWE World Tag Team Champion recently revealed how nervous he was over the WWE World Championship win of his best friend Big E.

Big E won the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match at the money in the bank pay per view event recently. He was a Smackdown star where he was going really strong and since winning the contract he was unbeaten at Friday Night Smackdown. WWE was trying really hard to build him as a potential face of the promotion.

He kept on teasing cashing in his contract in SmackDown and they tried to keep things surprising. He kept on saying that he could cash in on any champion. He even teased cashing in his contract on the WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. But it was quite clear that he would not be cashing in on Roman Reigns since there was no space for him.

Finally, he cashed in his contract on Monday Night RAW. The former champion Bobby Lashley defeated Randy Orton to retain his Championship. After the match, Big E came out and challenged for the Championship. He defeated Lashley and won his first WWE Championship. Even though the whole booking process was criticized badly.

Kofi Kingston who is also a former fourteen times WWE World Tag Team Champion recently spoke to SI where he revealed how nervous he was over the WWE World Championship win of his best friend Big E. He said;

“I haven’t run that fast in a decade. It was uncontrollable excitement. It was such an emotional day. I’ve been around the business long enough to know you don’t celebrate anything until it actually happens. Throughout the day, I had this energy in body, but I was scared to let it out. Something could have changed, and I didn’t want to jinx anything. When it actually happened, all that energy came pouring out.

“I was way more nervous watching E’s match than I was during my own at WrestleMania a few years ago. It’s one thing to see somebody work for something and grow and then finally attain the highest point of their profession, but it’s a whole other thing when you know that person deeply and personally.

“Myself, Woods and E, we are all brothers. I’ve watched E grow so, so much. He took this opportunity to be a wrestler and ran with it. He has never rested on his laurels. He’s always getting better, whether it’s on the mike, his physical shape or in the ring.

“He never holds back or takes a night off. He always prides himself in getting better. So it’s amazing to think where he started and see where he is now. It’s an inspiration. He wanted this, and he put in the work every step of the journey—and he did it. Everything happened the way it was supposed to. It was such a big moment for all of us.”

“It still would have been meaningful if I had won the title on SmackDown, but to me, this was the way to do it,” he said. “They had to be here. I don’t get here without them. With us, it’s a brotherhood.

“We hurt together, we smile together, this is real. All the toughest times have brought us closer together. I’m grateful for all the valleys and lows with them, because we got to experience all of this together.

“I’m so grateful for everything I have done in WWE, because I had the time to grow. I needed those years of seasoning. I think back to all the times I was so scared to do the right thing, but now it is so comfortable, and so much of that is because of Woods and Kofi. I had no business even getting to WWE, but I’ve been blessed along the way to get to this point, and I’m so thankful.”

WWE Summerslam 2021: Bobby Lashley To Face Hall Of Famer?

WWE is trying hard to stack up the card for Summerslam 2021, as much as possible with the top superstars from the roster. They will also be utilizing some of the returnees for the PPV event that makes it no less than a Wrestlemania occasion. Following the return of the WWE Hall of Famer Edge, another such old-school name is likely to be back in time for the August event to get involved in the WWE Title picture.

Bobby Lashley is currently set to defend the WWE Championship against Kofi Kingston at Money In The Bank 2021 PPV. This is supposed to be a filler feud on Lashley’s road to WWE SummerSlam 2021. With his dominant run on Raw, there’s no way that Kingston is going to win. Lashley is scheduled to defeat Kingston and then move on to the next feud. It now appears an interesting opponent could be waiting for him.

WWE Summerslam 2021: Bobby Lashley To Face Hall Of Famer? 1

According to the reports of Wrestling Observer, there are rumors of bringing back WWE Hall Of Famer Goldberg for another WWE Championship match this year. This led to the speculations that Lashley might end up facing the former WCW franchise player for the title at WWE Summerslam 2021. This comes after doubts over Brock Lesnar’s comeback to the WWE, this summer season.

Update On Mandy Rose’s Role After Surprise WWE NXT Appearance

Goldberg possibly setting up Summerslam 2021 match, this Monday

Moreover, Fightful now reports that Goldberg is now slated to make a return on the post MITB edition of Raw, this Monday night to confirm the match against Lashley. We will have to wait and watch to learn how things will unfold in the coming weeks.

Previously, Bobby Lashley vs. Brock Lesnar was reported to take place at Summerslam 2021, but WWE creative team still doesn’t have any plans over the Beast’s return, as per Ringside News. It is possible that WWE may just want to save that match for a future PPV main event since the main event of SummerSlam 2021 will reportedly be Roman Reigns vs. John Cena in a Universal Title Match.

This brings back Goldberg into the conversation since he still has one match left to compete under his latest WWE deal. But if he comes back for Summerslam 2021 then to face Lashley for the title, it would most likely be causing yet another loss for the WCW Legend. At the beginning of this year, Goldberg faced Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble 2021 PPV and came up short.

Big E On Whether He Would Be At Ringside During Bobby Lashley Vs. Kofi Kingston At Money In The Bank

Former two times WWE Intercontinental Champion Big E recently clarified if he would be at the ring side during the WWE championship match between the champion Bobby Lashley and E’s friend Kofi Kingston at the Money in the Bank pay per view event this Sunday.

Kofi Kingston won his first and only WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35 after he defeated Daniel Bryan to win the title. After lost the title to Brock Lesnar, he never got any rematch to captured the WWE championship gold once again until this Sunday at Money in the Bank.

Recently he defeated Bobby Lashley in a non title match when Lashley was involved in a Championship feud with Drew McIntyre. After Lashley defeated McIntyre at Hell in a Cell, Kofi Kingston finally got his opportunity to grab the title once again.

Lashley on the other hand was having a tough time recently. Lost a one on one match to Xavier Woods last week on Monday Night RAW which was not a very good look as the WWE champion. He seriously needs to win this match in order to make his profile stronger.

The former eight times WWE Tag Team Champion Big E recently featured as a guest on Ryan Satin’s Out Of Character podcast where he clarified if he would be at the ring side during the WWE championship match between the champion Bobby Lashley and E’s friend Kofi Kingston at the Money in the Bank pay per view event this Sunday. He said;

“I mean, the thing is you never know. I’ll be at the show, so there’s a chance I could be. I didn’t think I was gonna be out there at WrestleMania for Kofi and Woods’ match, but I was there briefly at the beginning.

“You never know. But, assuming I won’t be there, I don’t think it’ll be weird. I feel like I’m there in spirit, even though it is a little bit odd to watch Mondays and see those guys doing their thing without me. It’s deserved, man.

Big E

“Kofi is a guy who has been around so long but has never really rested on his laurels. He deserves that opportunity. Another guy I want to beat the drum for is my man Woods. He’s been truly entertaining and done a ton with UpUpDownDown and G4 and I think has really kind of paved the way in certain ways.

“It’s inspiring to see so many talents who are inspired by him and his work ethic and his hustle. But he’s not just those things. He’s a great in-ring performer and wrestler.”

As seen, this week’s WWE RAW saw Kingston and MVP feature in a face-off segment while Woods and Lashley were having the night off. The segment ended with Kingston running to the floor and dropping MVP at ringside with a Trouble In Paradise kick to send a message to the WWE Champion.

Kofi Kingston is scheduled to challenge Lashley for the WWE Title at the Money In the Bank pay-per-view on July 18. In more update to the situation, Xavier Woods reportedly requested time-off from this week’s WWE RAW.

Kofi Kingston Talks MVP As A Mentor

Former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston recently gave his opinion on how good MVP is as a mentor. Currently, the two individuals are involved in the same storyline as Kingston is challenging Bobby Lashley for the WWE championship and it is known to all that MVP is the manager of the WWE Champion.

Montel Vontavious Porter started his professional wrestling career at 2002. His big break came in 2005 when he was signed by the World Wrestling Entertainment. She was pretty impressive at the then WWE‘s development territory Deep South Wrestling.

Kofi Kingston Talks MVP As A Mentor

Just after a year he was given a chance to Shine on the main roster of WWE. Two most memorable think about MVP was his Inferno match with Kane, even though he lost the match to Kane.

He was released by WWE in 2010. In his four year WWE main roster career, he won the WWE United States Championship twice and WWE Tag Team Championship once with Matt Hardy.

MVP return to WWE in 2020 during the Royal Rumble match. But it was quite unfortunate that he had to fall into the rate of Brock Lesnar who made a record that night by eliminating 13 wrestlers in total from the Royal Rumble match Breaking the previous record made by Roman Reigns in 2014.

MVP did return as a wrestler but he preferred to continue as a manager to Bobby Lashley. Ever since he turned into a manager from wrestler he has been doing an amazing job.

Kofi Kingston recently spoke to The Bump where he revealed that MVP mentored him when he first came to the main roster of WWE. He said;

“Well, first, I want to address the fact that I have to go to work now and look around the dark corners to make sure he isn’t lurking around and creeping around. This is creepy, bro. As far as what he’s saying, it’s kind of difficult because when I first came on the roster, MVP took me under his wing.

“I’ve always considered him to be like a big brother. I’ve always appreciated what he’s done in the ring and his mic work. Over the years, I don’t know, I’ve seen him go down this path where…our philosophies don’t match. You weren’t here when I was grinding. You weren’t here telling me what to do.

“I got to this point on my own. I’ve achieved a lot of success here. I don’t feel like I need help from anybody, really, to tell me what to do, let alone MVP. If we’re talking credentials, I don’t even like to toot my own horn, but how many titles have I won? How much success have I had consistently over the past decade-plus?

“I don’t need MVP to tell me what I need to do to become champion. He gets under my skin with these comments, so I just don’t need him.”

Following the incident, WWE is promoting that Kofi will be facing MVP to fire back at him. WWE Money In The Bank 2021: New Participants Qualify For Ladder Match

A six-woman tag team action has been announced as Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke will team up with WWE RAW Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley to face Charlotte Flair and WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Natalya and Tamina Snuka. This comes as WWE merges two feuds to run simultaneously.

As seen last week, Flair has officially received a title rematch against Ripley at Money In The Bank PPV event after the champion intentionally disqualified herself from the bygone title match at Hell In A Cell 2021. At the same time, WWE has been building a title match with Brooke and Rose vs. Natalya and Snuka for quite a few weeks now. The two teams have been featured in a couple of backstage brawls while Nattie defeated Mandy at the HIAC PPV event.

WWE Raw Preview (28/06/21): Triple Threat; Six-Woman Tag Match; Strap Match 36

WWE RAW will also feature a Strap Match between Elias and Jaxson Ryker to continue their current feud. The former tag team partners have been hammering away at each other for the past several weeks. Last week, during a backstage segment, Ryker announced the match while talking to Mansoor, who approached him looking for some advice. This Strap Match ensures that Elias won’t be able to run away from an ongoing match like the past couple of occasions.
