WWE Hall of Famer Edge has become an All Elite as Adam Copeland after his debut in the company at AEW WrestleDream 2023. His debut gave tons of interest to the wrestling event that was once touted to be drawing the lowest numbers in recent memory. Not only, has AEW countered that negative aspect but it appears that they have also found a replacement for their former top player CM Punk who’s not any longer with the brand.

Fightful Select has reported on the backstage reactions of Adam Copeland moving to AEW from WWE which seems to be an expected move for the legendary name. Stars from both the WWE rosters are seemingly happy with the WWE Hall of Famer’s next move where he will be appearing on AEW TV in a full-time schedule.

The report affirms states that Adam Copeland is keen on helping out the company and its talents in any way that he can. Plus, he also told an unnamed star that he will assist the AEW roster behind the scenes. Plus, his presence will also reportedly help the AEW to feel the gap that’s left by CM Punk after the former star was released by All Elite Wrestling.

Adam Copeland’s AEW arrival was never a secret to insiders

As for the WWE, they were also reportedly aware of the fact that Adam Copeland would not return to the promotion as far back as the summer. The contract between the two parties expired at the end of September while his last match came against Sheamus on the August 18 edition of WWE SmackDown in his hometown of Toronto, Canada.

The report also affirmed that WWE and Adam Copeland maintain friendly relationships which was also mentioned by the latter in his statements following his AEW arrival. AEW and WWE stars were aware that Copeland would sign for AEW and that was the case even before his final match in WWE. That being said, his debut at WrestleDream was touted to be a poorly-kept secret,

“One longtime AEW talent said that Copeland spoke about Copeland filling the gap that CM Punk left behind, in that he’ll be helpful and not cause any issues internally. That person did reiterate that Punk himself had been helpful to many within the company as well. Regarding his theme, WWE never held exclusive licensing rights to the song, as Fightful Select had speculated today.”
