In one of the marquee matches of AEW Double or Nothing 2022, Adam Cole and Samoa Joe will go one-on-one in the finale of the Men’s Owen Hart Cup Tournament.
This week’s AEW Dynamite saw the last semifinal match between Joe and Kyle O’Reilly with the winner moving into the match against Cole at the upcoming pay-per-view (Cole defeated Tomohiro Ishii in the qualifying round, Dax Harwood in the quarterfinals, and Jeff Hardy in the semifinals to advance to the finale).

In the finishing moments of the match, O’Reilly applied Samoa Joe in the Fujiwara armbar, but Joe made it to the ropes to break the hold. After exchanging some furious strikes, Joe was able to put O’Reilly in his coquina clutch and got the knockout win in order to move to AEW Double or Nothing 2022. Prior to this, Joe defeated Max Caster from The Acclaimed in the qualifying round and Johnny Elite in the quarterfinals.
On the women’s side of the Owen Hart tournament, the first match in the semifinals took place, last night when Britt Baker and Toni Storm went one-on-one. Using the middle rope, Baker pinned Storm and cheated her way to the finals set to be held at AEW Double or Nothing 2022. Her opponent will be either Ruby Soho or Kris Statlander as the two will compete in the last semifinal match on this week’s Rampage.
WWE Hell In A Cell 2022: Triple Threat And Two More Matches Announced
Wardlow will also finally get his hands on MJF this Sunday at AEW Double or Nothing 2022. Over on Dynamite, Wardlow defeated Shawn Spears in a Steel Cage Match, the last hurdle in a series in order to secure a match against MJF.
MJF himself served as the special guest referee but he was accidentally knocked out by Spears with a chair shot. Another referee came out as Wardlow pinned Spears with his signature powerbomb symphony. Thus at AEW Double or Nothing 2022, Wardlow and MJF will go one-on-one for the very first time. If Wardlow wins, he will be released from his contract with MJF and will be able to sign with AEW. But if he loses then Wardlow will forever be banned from signing a deal with the promotion.
