If the original reports were to go by around AEW Double or Nothing 2023, then the Four Pillars of the company (AEW World Heavyweight Champion MJF, Sammy Guevera, Darby Allin, and Jungle Boy) were always scheduled to feature in the main event match of the pay-per-view. After a midway change in the build, that four-way match is seemingly back on track.
After what transpired at this week’s AEW Dynamite, Sammy Guevara has officially been named as the new challenger for MJF’s AEW World Championship at the AEW Double or Nothing 2023 pay-per-view. However, there will be a match, next week from which the two rest of the members of this Four Pillars could add worries for “The Salt of the Earth.”
AEW Dynamite: Owen Hart Foundation Tournament 2023 Announced; New Matches Booked
On the April 26 edition of AEW Dynamite, Guevara secured his spot in the final match of the Four Pillars tournament after defeating Darby Allin via disqualification after a little help came from his wife Tay Melo, and his current buddy, MJF.
Melo distracted the referee while MJF faked an attack on Guevera by tossing Allin’s signature skateboard into the ring. The referee saw the scene and awarded Guevara the win to announce AEW Double or Nothing 2023 main event.

AEW Double or Nothing 2023 main event could still change?
After the match, “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry came to the aid of Allin after MJF and Guevara wanted to deliver a post-match beatdown on him. It should be noted that Jungle Boy was scr**ed out of the Four Pillars tournament, last week after MJF helped Guevera to win against Jungle Boy for the elimination.
As a follow-up, AEW Commentator Tony Schiavone received a message through his headset from AEW President Tony Khan as he announced that Allin would compete in a tag team match with Jungle Boy against MJF and Guevara, and if the babyface duo wins then they will be added to the title match set for AEW Double or Nothing 2023 and make it a Four-Way.
MJF has been the top titleholder in AEW since dethroning Jon Moxley at the Full Gear 2022 pay-per-view in November 2022. AEW Double or Nothing 2023 takes place on Sunday, May 28 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and it seems like MJF will have to go through his toughest title defense on that night.
