In the wake of his current adversary’s new championship win on AEW Dynamite, Wardlow returned and set his sights back on him. The AEW wrestler having the nickname Mr. Mayhem made his comeback on return on the February 2 episode in his home state of Ohio at Wright State University.
This occurred shortly after Joe reclaimed the AEW TNT Championship from Darby Allin in a No Holds Barred main event bout of AEW Dynamite. The two opponents ripped each other apart in a match that was filled with thumbtacks, table spots, and more utilizing the No-DQ atmosphere. In the end, Joe pinned Allin with his Muscle Buster finisher on Allin.

Wardlow emerged on Dynamite after title match
After the match concluded on AEW Dynamite, Wardlow charged down to the ring and placed the new TNT Champion in position for a powerbomb. Somehow, the new champion escaped the scene after which a bunch of security guards suffered the wrath of Wardlow. The show went off the air with Wardlow power-bombing one of the guards of the ring onto the others as Joe watched from a safe distance.

Wardlow not seen on AEW Dynamite for two months
Wardlow had not been kept off TV since his loss to Joe on the New Year’s Smash episode of AEW Dynamite in the last week of December 2022. That match happened to culminate in the friendship-turned-foe feud between the two of them involving the TNT Championship.
It was on the November 9 AEW Dynamite that the holder of the ROH World TV Championship betrayed Wardlow after the latter promised to capture every title that the AEW has to offer. Joe then took away Wardlow’s TNT Championship by pinning Powerhouse Hobbs in a three-way match for the title. Then last night, he became a dual champion by regaining the title from Allin.

Joe ended Allin’s second championship reign
Now that Joe has defeated Allin to start his second reign as TNT Champion, it’s worth noting that Allin also wrapped up his second stint with the same title. To date, Allin remains the longest-reigning TNT Champion in AEW history by capturing the belt for 186 days. By the looks of the championship picture, Wardlow should be the first challenger for Joe for either of his titles.
