One of the two top AEW Superstars, Jon Moxley or Bryan Danielson will close out AEW Dynamite Grand Slam 2022 as the new AEW World Heavyweight Champion.
During this week’s Dynamite Moxley and Danielson advanced to the finals of the ongoing AEW World Title Tournament by respectively defeating Sammy Guevara and Chris Jericho in their scheduled semi-final matches. In the main event match, Danielson defeated Jericho after which his fellow Blackpool Combat Club (BCC) member Moxley came out to confront him and thereby send the show off the air.

Two new title matches have also been announced for AEW Dynamite Grand Slam 2022 apart from the world title match tournament finale. AEW announced that PAC will defend his All-Atlantic Championship against Orange Cassidy in a singles encounter. Plus, Interim AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm will defend against Athena, Dr. Britt Baker, and Serena Deeb in a Four-Way Match.

The All-Atlantic title match was announced Cassidy attacked PAC in the backstage area with an Orange Punch and made his intentions clear that he will go after the Death Triangle member’s title.
The Interim AEW Women’s Title match for AEW Grand Slam 2022 was set up after Baker and Deeb’s victory over Storm and Athena on this week’s show in a tag team match. Deeb pinned Storm with a roll-up after outside interference from Rebel. After the match, the heels attacked Athena until Jamie Hayter made the save.
But Hayter also attacked Storm, the babyface as she intends to go after the title. Hayter and Baker have been involved in a beef since their Four-Way Match for the Interim AEW Women’s World Championship at the All Out pay-per-view.
Baker pulled the referee out of the ring at the moment when Hayter was this close to winning the women’s title. During next week’s AEW Dynamite Grand Slam 2022 match, Hayter should get involved in some capacity.
