On the upcoming episode of AEW Dynamite, AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter will defend her title against Hikaru Shida in the possible main event match of the night.
The title match was confirmed via a promo segment on the AEW Dynamite: Winter Is Coming special episode that featured interviews from both Hayter and Shida. Shida reminded the world in her promo that she’s the longest-reigning AEW Women’s World Champion in history and she’s also set to regain her title from Hayter, a great wrestler.

Hayter and Shida set up a major title bout
In response, Hayter stressed that she’s someone whom Shida can expect “fun to be in the ring with” as she “hits hard” and is always in “all go” mode. Afterward, the title match was officially announced by the WWE which will mark Hayter’s first title defense since she defeated Storm for the AEW Women’s World Championship at last month’s Full Gear 2022 pay-per-view.
Shida and Hayter have featured in a tag team match where Shida and Toni Storm teamed up against Hayter and Baker on the October 12 episode of AEW Dynamite in Toronto, Canada. The two were also part of a four-way match to crown an Interim AEW Women’s World Champion at the All Out PPV. Storm won that match.
