In the latest episode of AEW Dynamite, the first semifinalist for the 2023 AEW Owen Hart Tournament, the women’s side has been determined. In the scheduled semifinal match, The Outcasts member Ruby Soho defeated the talented young AEW wrestler Skye Blue to advance to the Finals of the Women’s Owen Hart Cup Tournament by winning which one can secure a championship match opportunity.

Soho vs. Blue semifinal match was pretty competitive on AEW Dynamite with the latter mostly dominating the match from the beginning. But in the end, one mistake costs Blue the match. After climbing the top rope, Blue missed a high-flying maneuver.

Soho caught her on the top rope and delivered an avalanche short-arm No Future on the ropes (known as The Riott Kick finisher in the WWE) to get the clean pinfall win over Blue. Now, she will compete in the final match of the AEW Owen Hart Tournament on this week’s AEW Collision episode.

AEW Dynamite: Ruby Soho enters the finale of the Owen Hart Tournament

With this win on AEW Dynamite, Ruby Soho became the first AEW star to have advanced to the finals of the tourney on two occasions. Last year, the former WWE Superstar lost to Britt Baker in the finals at Double or Nothing. Baker and Baker’s boyfriend, Adam Cole, won the women’s and men’s Owen Hart tournament.

Over on this week’s Collision, Soho will now face the winner of the other semifinal match to take place between Ring of Honor Women’s World Champion Athena and Willow Nightingale. The match was taped last night following AEW Dynamite and it will air this Friday night on Rampage.

Also, on AEW Dynamite, The Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament continued where the most divergent alliance of Adam Cole and MJF succeeded and entered the final match by defeating Brian Cage and Big Bill in the semifinal. Following the win, Cole also suggested that they will eventually win the AEW World Tag Team Championship on the July 29 episode of Collision.

To secure that win, Cole and MJF will now face Daniel Garcia and Sammy Guevara on AEW Dynamite, next week. This week, the latter duo also advanced in the tournament final on the same episode as they defeated Orange Cassidy and Darby Allin earlier in the night.
