Renee Young arrived on the AEW roster in style and managed to make quite the first impression in front of her hometown crowd. Set from the Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, the popular female wrestling journalist has joined the biggest rivalry brand of WWE, hoping to be one of the biggest assets of the new company.
AEW’s latest edition of Dynamite was kicked off by Renee Young who first introduced herself to the audience and then welcomed her hometown fans to AEW’s first-ever event outside the United States. She was overwhelmed by the raucous fans present at the venue who opted to give her a loud ovation.
Renee Young Turned Down Contract Offer By WWE To Go To AEW
Renee Young then proceeded to interview her former WWE Backstage on FOX colleague and now an AEW Superstar and also a Toronto native Christian Cage. The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion took a shot at the Toronto Maple Leafs before introducing Luchasaurus ahead of his match against Jungle Boy.

Later on, AEW Dynamite, Renee Young interviewed The Firm’s Ethan Page and Stokely Hathaway in the backstage area, until Matt Hardy and Private Party interrupted the segment. The confrontation between the two teams led to a match for this Friday’s AEW Rampage where Page will go up against Isiah Kassidy.
Renee Young then also caught up with Nyla Rose, Marina Shafir, and Vickie Guerrero for another interview segment. It was pointed out by the host how Rose was gunning Jade Cargill’s TBS Title, which led to Anna Jay showing up and challenging Rose for a match on AEW Rampage for later this week.
“I can take that belt and show you and Jade Cargill what a real champion looks like,” Jay told Rose as the latter accepted the challenge for Rampage.
After Dynamite went off the air, Renee Young now going by Renee Paquette thanked fans in Toronto for making her AEW debut a memorable one with the following comments on Twitter,
“Tonight was stupid fun. Thanks for all the really sweet messages and response to me debuting with @AEW tonight! Toronto was SO loud!!!”
The former WWE journalist is here in the AEW after turning down an offer made by the WWE to return to the company, earlier this year. Renee Young is expected to make regular appearances on Dynamite given that she possesses a full-time contract with AEW.
