Thunder Rosa defeated Mariah May on the April 3 episode of Dynamite to cement her spot as the number one contender to Toni Storm’s AEW Women’s title. Following the match, it was officially announced that the AEW Dynasty 2024 pay-per-view will see Rosa going after Storm’s title in a bout where the two top female athletes in AEW will collide against one another.

Following her victory, Rosa challenged Storm and attempted to get in her face before being held back by a referee. It was then on the screen that the graphic for AEW Dynasty 2024 appeared and confirmed that the match was happening within a few weeks.
