AEW Women’s division has been given a push in recent times with the help of healthy competition among the stars. Dr. Britt Baker is the reigning Women’s World Champion of All Elite Wrestling who is leading them from the front with her current heel shtick. Updates now claim that a huge match is in the pipeline for the title while they are also planning to introduce a mid-card title.
In March 2021, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. faced Thunder Rosa in an Unsanctioned Lights Out Anything Goes Match back at AEW Dynamite: St. Patrick’s Day Slam. Rose won that match while Baker’s performance was also praised a lot. It eventually also helped the latter name to get inserted into the championship picture, down the road.

As noted earlier, AEW Women’s division is also planning to introduce a second title in the near future. Andrew Zarian of Mat Men Podcast reports that the secondary Women’s Title will be called the TBS Championship. Presumably, the new title will be a similar mid-card title to the male division TNT Championship currently held by Miro. Both AEW’s weekly programming, Rampage, and Dynamite will move to TBS in 2022.
Zarian broke the news of the introduction of the new title while appearing on Denise Salcedo’s Speak Now Pro Wrestling show immediately after AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York. AEW Women’s division headlined that night as Britt Baker successfully defended her AEW Women’s World Championship against Ruby Soho in the main event of that night.
