Britt Baker remains a dedicated talent of the All Elite Wrestling roster who ruled the roost of the women’s roster in the company. Since making her debut more than four years ago, she has undergone a remarkable transformation to establish herself as one of the top female competitors not only in the promotion but also in the world of professional wrestling.
Plus, the unique aspect of her career remains juggling between two occupations, wrestling and dentistry. While joining as a full-time performer in the AEW, Britt Baker was concerned about not fully being able to enjoy two separate careers. Eventually, the company’s flexible schedule assured her.

Following the announcement of All Elite Wrestling in 2019, Britt Baker became the first female wrestler to sign with the promotion. While appearing on the AEW panel at SXSW 2024, she opened up about becoming the first female All Elite, which happened after she had just heard of a new wrestling giant being formed. Following the signing, her main issue was to continue practice as a dentist.

Britt Baker was skeptical about a successful career in AEW
“And the first thing I asked was, ‘Well, can I still be a dentist?’ Because that was always a thing I dreaded when I graduated dental school in 2018, was when I was going to have to choose one or the other. Because I knew it was going to happen,” Britt Baker stated.
“Everyone would always ask me, ‘What are you going to do when you have to pick one career?’ And I would say, ‘I’m not ever going to pick one.’ But deep down, I had no idea how the hell I was going to pull that off.” (quotes courtesy Wrestling INC)
Britt Baker had always wanted to join the WWE, but after she didn’t get an opportunity on NXT, joining the AEW ultimately became a “no-brainer” for the former AEW Women’s World Champion. It was mentioned that inking a deal with Tony Khan’s promotion felt right to her despite the huge risk involved in it.
Speaking in the conversation, Britt Baker also shared another story about how she had to pull over and vomit before appearing at AEW’s inaugural press conference because she was so nervous. After overcoming all the initial doubts over her career, the Pittsburgh-native eventually went on to become the longest-reigning AEW Women’s Champion of all time.
