Cesaro reportedly agreed to a new WWE contract, in recent times. He’s been with the company for over a decade and if these reports are any indications then he won’t be going anywhere for years to come. It is unclear at this point how long he will stick around due to the contract renewal. We can only assume that the deal will be intact for at least the next three years.
Perhaps, as a result of the new contract, Cesaro is under a winning streak on SmackDown, as of later. He recently battled Daniel Bryan, twice on the blue brand and picked up the win via clean pinfall or submission on both occasions. The wins over the former world champion seem pretty viable while the latest one also was a brutal match that saw the side of the winner’s head covered in blood.

Nonetheless, Cesaro did win the match and then he shared a fist bump with Daniel Bryan as a show of respect. After that, it certainly indicated that he’s turned into a babyface just like his former tag team partner Shinsuke Nakamura. The previously working heel persona will now be working on a new role, it seems.
Cesaro needs to put over new WWE stars
WWE told Cesaro that he is needed to ‘put over’ younger stars. Those big wins over Cesaro are considered to be enough accolades for the former United States and Tag Team Champion those he could share to job against the emerging superstars. The role for him could begin around WrestleMania 37 as he could use the current momentums for his own sake, as of now.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Cesaro was originally slated to be in Shinsuke Nakamura’s spot during the recent gauntlet match on SmackDown that stole the show. He was taken out of the spot on that night as he hadn’t signed a new deal at the time.
Now that Cesaro has signed a new deal, it is reported that “he’s been told his role is to make new stars.” We can only assume that he would have no problems working with the younger talents to help them out.
Cesaro’s contract was reportedly coming to an end after WrestleMania 37 but he didn’t want to keep any uncertainty around himself and inked the new deal. Now, he has a new role on the roster which unfortunately won’t take him to the main event.
