Charlotte Flair had been on a long hiatus in the WWE starting in the summer of 2022 after she dropped the Smackdown Women’s Championship to Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania Backlash. Her strong status was protected in the match as she was never pinned or submitted to lose the belt but rather screamed I Quit to come up short.
The Queen then took a break from WWE television to tie the knot with AEW wrestler Andrade El Idolo. Due to a benchmark figure in the WWE Women’s Division, her absence was felt and fans have anticipated her return to the formerly Vince McMahon-owned promotion for a long time. Even the bitter rival of the WWE brand, AEW’s one top superstar has seemingly anticipated her return.
“You Don’t Want Any Part Of The Queen!” Ric Flair Warns Dominik About Charlotte Flair
After almost two years of dominating the AEW women’s division, there isn’t anyone that Jade Cargill hasn’t faced and defeated for the TBS Championship. The question remains who could possibly be the next to challenge Jade for a title match. The champion herself had a suggestion and that challenger’s name is Charlotte Flair.
A fan took to Twitter to ask the question to Jade regarding who she wants to face to defend her title outside of AEW. Replying to this, Jade mentioned that she would love to face the thirteen-time women’s champion in the WWE,

Charlotte Flair was busy with personal life during WWE hiatus
Given the athleticism of Charlotte Flair and Jade Cargill and also their protected status, it would be a dream match for professional wrestling fans. However, for now, the match won’t be coming to reality anytime soon since their owner brands consider both the talents as assets and they’re not expected to be let go.
WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair randomly talked about Charlotte Flair and her whereabouts during her WWE absence on his To Be The Man podcast. According to The Nature Boy, the former SmackDown Women’s Champion had to deal with some personal issues that pushed back her return schedule to the WWE. She was also vacationing with her husband in Italy in late 2022.
Despite her hiatus, the general belief is that a marquee match will be reserved for Charlotte Flair at Wrestlemania 39. A potential showdown for the Raw Women’s Championship at the premium live event is expected against Bianca Belair.
