WWE continuously pushing Charlotte Flair and keeping her in the title picture, have frustrated WWE fans for years. Many of the WWE Universe genuinely feel she is overbooked and also hindered pushes for many of her contemporaries in the past. However, there’s no question mark on her exceptional in-ring skills that always remain at a benchmark level.
Following Ronda Rousey’s successful defense of the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship on the December 30 episode of SmackDown, Charlotte Flair showed up and issued an immediate challenge for the title to the woman who took the title away from her back in May.

Despite the denials by Shayna Baszler, Rousey agreed to participate in the second title match of the evening and the decision turned out to be a fatal one for her.
Rousey put up a tough fight already that night to overcome Raquel Rodriguez but she couldn’t do the same in the impromptu match as she lost in just under two minutes after Flair rolled her up using a handful of tights to become the new WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion. Thus, it marked the beginning of her 14th title reign, as well as in the WWE.

Charlotte Flair’s title-winning moment was informed at the last minute
It appears that the most recent title win for Charlotte Flair has been something that she came to know on the day of the show itself. While speaking on Ryan Satin on the Out of Character podcast, the 14-time Women’s Champion revealed that she came to know about her 8th Smackdown Women’s Championship win on the day of the December 30th show, itself,
“I didn’t find out I was winning the title until I got there. I didn’t have gear with me. My amazing cleaning lady brought me my gear. I should have known better. I’m coming to a wrestling show, I just brought my outfit.
I thought it was just going to be a walkout surprise because I had been gone for so long, I really didn’t need to be any major fireworks, but when I got there they were like, ‘You need your gear.’ I got the call at maybe 5ish that I needed gear, right before I got to the arena. She got to the arena around 7, 7:15.”
Although it seems surprise enough, Charlotte Flair was actually cheered after she ended up winning the Smackdown Women’s Championship. In fact, she herself went on record saying that she genuinely did not expect that kind of warm reception from the audience in Tampa. Ronda Rousey wasn’t supposed to lose her title until the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event in the first place. But WWE creative eventually pulled the plug on her dud title reign.
