Chelsea Green has found her way back to the WWE, earlier this year during the 2023 Women’s Royal Rumble Match. For those who don’t know, her husband Matt Cardona was also with the WWE for a long time under the name of Zack Ryder. He’s not with the company, anymore but he does keep track of things that his wife is doing which also makes him believe in a potential TV reunion.
During an appearance on Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw, Cardona highly expressed his pride and support for his wife, Chelsea Green since her surprise return to the WWE earlier this year after a gap of more than two years. During the conversation, Cordona sounded seemingly grateful for her recent accomplishments in the company,
“She’s doing a great job. When she got the opportunity to go back to WWE, selfishly it screws up my whole shtick on the Indies, but I said, ‘Babe, you gotta go back’.”

Chelsea Green’s original gimmick from the indie circuit has been ruined since WWE has introduced her as a ‘Karen’ character who complains a lot rather than backing it up inside the squared circle. However, it’s a learning process and Cordona is happy for the opportunities that his wife is getting.

As noted above, Chelsea Green had previously been with WWE but she never had this kind of opportunity be it on NXT or on the main roster to leave an impression. Now that Triple H is in charge of the creative team, she has been featured prominently on WWE programming. The ongoing stint includes a WrestleMania match and a shot at the women’s tag team titles.
Matt again reiterated how proud he felt for his wife. Furthermore, he also added on the possibility of working together with Chelsea Green on the main WWE roster,
“I’m so proud of her. She’s got a big women’s tag team title match coming up. Hopefully, she does well. She’s having a great time and I’m super proud of her and hey, you never know. Maybe one day we’ll be back together on that main roster. But for now, we’re doing our separate things, but I couldn’t be more proud of her. She’s doing great.”
The real-life couple had previously worked together on TV. In the independent wrestling scene Chelsea Green managed Cardona while in Impact Wrestling, the two also had the opportunity to compete as a mixed tag team. Now that, one of them is back in the fold, the other one is seemingly ready for a call from the company heads.
