Tessa Blanchard is considered to be one of the most wanted free agents in the professional wrestling circuit for the past several months. But to date, she has not signed with any promotions. The accusations of her racially abusing talents had turned out to be much fatal, perhaps. This would be the reason why WWE may just think twice to sign her.
It has been rumored for the past few days that Tessa Blanchard could be going to AEW instead of WWE/NXT. But on the contrary, AEW commentator Tony Schiavone indicated that there are no such talks ongoing in the company regarding her.
Speaking on the AEW Dynamite post-show, Schiavone said “I don’t think that’s happening.” It was then when he was specifically asked if he had any knowledge of AEW wanting to sign Tessa Blanchard. “At least not anytime soon. I would have heard that [if she’s coming over],” he replied.
Tessa Blanchard Gives Updates On Career
WWE is also interested in Tessa Blanchard
WWE would be more interested in signing the former Knockouts Champion given her history and credibility. In this individual case, WWE may not have any problem with the problematic past her. In addition, she did have prior experience to compete in a WWE ring that is to participate in the Mae Young Classic tournament.
According to the previous reports of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there was a pull within AEW to bring in Tessa Blanchard. There have obviously been some pushbacks on this subject considering the bullying and racism allegations against her. But some of the officials in AEW really wanted her to be on their side. AEW does have a Women’s Division that could really be fruitful under her leadership.
Tessa Blanchard was released from Impact Wrestling on June 25th, 2020 as the reigning World Champion of the company. The pandemic made it impossible for her to travel to the United States from Mexico and she denied making it to the television tapings. Thus she became one of the hottest free agents in pro wrestling.
On the day prior to Tessa Blanchard’s Impact Wrestling World Tile win at Hard To Kill last year, the first set of allegations came out about her. She was accused of addressing another wrestler with the N-word alongside backstage bullying allegations. She denied all of those through an Instagram post back in September, though.
