Not all the superstars found success in the WWE despite featuring on TV and Deonna Purrazzo appears to be one of those names. Despite being one of the top female talents in the professional wrestling industry, a lack of creative planning never handed her the success that she wanted to achieve in the WWE.

Deonna Purrazzo used to work as an NXT Superstar, starting in 2018. After literally sitting backstage for two long years, she was fired from the company back on April 15th, 2020 due to the COVID-19 budget cuts. It did not take her long to find success outside the world of WWE as she became a top feature on Impact Wrestling programming, starting with the month of May. Looking back at her WWE stint, the top Impact Superstar doesn’t have any pleasant story to share.

Deonna Purrazzo “Doesn’t Like Anything About This System” In WWE 1

While speaking on SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio, Deonna Purrazzo recalled her time in WWE. While this has always been her dream job, she did realize that not all the dreams have to be good. The two-time Impact Knockouts Champion made it clear she does not like anything about how WWE holds things for new talents or how their entire system works around the PC.

Deonna Purrazzo’s dream WWE job was squandered in NXT

“I think dreams change. think as we get older and experience more things – like my dream was always to wrestle at WrestleMania and be, at the time, the Divas Champion. That’s all I knew in wrestling growing up, so that was my ultimate goal,” Deonna Purrazzo continued.

“Then I got there [to WWE], and it was like, I don’t like anything about this system, it’s just not a conducive environment for me and my dream changed. Now I just want to go somewhere that’s going to appreciate me for me, and give me an opportunity to wrestle and see what happens.” (quotes courtesy Wrestling INC)

Deonna Purrazzo made her official in-ring debut on AEW Dynamite, this week where she was scheduled for ROH Women’s Championship against Mercedes Martinez in an undisputed title match.

The finish of the bout saw Mercedes Martinez defeat Deonna Purrazzo by submission with a surfboard dragon sleeper to become the official Undisputed ROH Women’s Champion. Purrazzo doesn’t have any title around her waist, as of now since she already lost the AAA Reina de Reinas title to Taya Valkyre.
