Impact Wrestling’s Knockouts Division again received a steady leader in Deonna Purrazzo after she recently won back the title from Jordynne Grace at the Rebellion PPV. Soon after that win, she recently revealed on the podcast “In The Weeds” with Jeremy Lambert and Joel Pearl that she is not allowed to talk about her husband, Steve Maclin, on screen.
It should be noted that Maclin has also become the Impact World Champion at the same PPV, making them a power couple in the pro-wrestling industry. With that, the duo can certainly expect to feature in some dream scenarios inside the squared circle as long as they’re on top of the game in Impact Wrestling.

Deonna Purrazzo has had a long history of championship wins since her WWE departure. After winning belts from multiple women’s divisions, she got to be part of some cross-brand dream matches in the past. The three-time Knockouts Champion is currently having her eyes on two stars from the STARDOM wrestling promotion in Japan.
Deonna Purrazzo wants to face top STARDOM stars at Multiverse United
In a recent interview with WrestleZone, Deonna Purrazzo spoke about Multiverse United 2 in August, an event that will have stars from both NJPW and Impact Wrestling rosters. During the conversation, she was asked about the possibility of facing opponents from Japanese promotion. In response, she obviously took the names of Mercedes Mone (fka Sasha Banks in WWE) and KAIRI (fka Kairi Sane in WWE) as both the ladies are under contract with STARDOM.
“Obviously everyone wants to talk about Mercedes [Mone], but Mercedes just lost the IWGP Women’s Championship to Mayu Iwatani. I’ve been in the ring with Mayu a handful of times in years past and I would love to revisit that. I think that would be interesting,” said Deonna Purrazzo. “And, you know, I’ve never been in the ring with KAIRI, that would be a really cool first-time match.”
Deonna Purrazzo last competed in a match in STARDOM in 2018, when she teamed with Zoe Lucas to face AZM and Momo Watanabe. Afterward, she was recruited by the WWE for the NXT brand, a stint that turned out to be disastrous for the promising female talent.
Being a top wrestler of the Impact Knockouts division, Deonna Purrazzo is expected to be booked in a top match at Multiverse United, a tradition that started earlier this year in March. It was on that night that the current champion defeated Miyu Yamashita, Masha Slamovich, and Gisele Shaw to earn a shot at the then-vacant Impact Knockouts World Championship for Rebellion PPV.
