Lana was all over the news in recent times as she opened up about the experience she had with the romantic angle featuring Dolph Ziggler. She recently talked about a weird backstage segment with Renee Paquette on The Sessions Podcast during that angle which also involved Vince McMahon. Apparently, it was the WWE Chairman who taught her how to kiss Ziggler.
It was back in 2015 when Lana was involved in a romantic angle with Dolph Ziggler while ending her on-screen partnership with Rusev. After Rusev (now known as Miro) tried to bury the hatchet with her, Lana turned babyface and kissed Ziggler on an episode of RAW that started an on-screen relationship between the duo. The two maintained kayfabe for sometimes and it was hard to believe that they weren’t a real couple.
According to Lana’s comments, McMahon used John Laurinaitis as a prop and demonstrated how she’d be kissing Dolph Ziggler for the first time. It wasn’t supposed to be a pro kiss but rather a “way slower” one than the wrestlers first rehearsed. The kiss needed to showcase “innocence” on television rather than expertise.

Dolph Ziggler reminded his on-screen flamboyant persona
In the aftermath of these comments by his former on-screen flame, Dolph Ziggler was recently asked during an appearance on Cleveland’s Morning News with Wills & Snyder what Vince McMahon’s role was during the rehearsal. The Show-Off surprisingly denied the fact that McMahon had to do anything about teaching him how to kiss Lana.
“Oh no, no, he didn’t teach how … but to be fair, I mean, this is show business,” Dolph Ziggler noted. “We did have to become on-screen a pair together, so that’s always awkward, especially when you’re friends with them already, or if they’re in a relationship with your buddy. But, yeah, that’s part of the deal … My character has had tons of girlfriends, and the first couple of times it’s really weird and awkward.”
Dolph Ziggler continues to be a regular feature on WWE Raw television even after spending 16 years in the company. Lana, on the other hand, was released from her WWE contract in June 2021, a year after Rusev was released. McMahon is also gone from the WWE as he resigned from his positions in WWE amid the investigations ongoing against him due to a hush-money scandal.
