Edge appeared to be a breath of fresh air on WWE programming since Royal Rumble 2021. The sudden return from injury to WWE saw him win the 2021 Men’s Rumble match which is the second win of his career by virtue of which, he now will be featured on the road to WrestleMania, guaranteed to compete in a main event championship match.

Being a pioneer in this industry, Edge wanted to tell some great stories along the way just like the one he had with Randy Orton. There are some of the people who he would love to work with, in the near future as time is very limited for him. Additionally, he doesn’t want to go in a position where he ever becomes a burden in his match.

While speaking on the After the Bell podcast hosted by Corey Graves, Edge talked about some people he would love to wrestle with, on the current roster. When the context of hanging up his boots was raised, The Rated R Superstar stated that he wants to make his opponents excited while competing. Whenever the boring aspect will enter the situation, he’d happy to step aside from the competition.

“I just want it to be that if a talent sees ‘Vs. Edge’ on the sheet, that they’re excited and not this is going to be difficult. I don’t want to get to that stage, I’ll be gone before that happens hopefully in a perfect world. I want to come back and just try and tell some great stories. If I can impart some type of wisdom or experience from doing this for 29 years, then that’s part of the goal. I want to leave this better than when I came into it,” Edge continued.

“If that can happen by just brushing up on a guy like Damian Priest and giving him a tip of the hat, Finn Balor. The level that dudes operating on, I’d love to get in there with him. There’s just so many different people and I could tell such a different story with every one of them.”

Edge Says He'd Leave WWE When He Fails To Tell Great Stories 2

Edge originally signed a three-year deal with WWE to compete in just a handful number of matches. However, that must have changed considering how frequent he’s visiting Raw since the Rumble win. The company could always add more matches to that contract as time goes on. As of now, his plan is to continue wrestling as long as possible and tell good stories in the ring.

When Edge first returned at last year’s Royal Rumble for the first time in nine years, many thought it would just be a one-time appearance. But the Rated R Superstar decided to stick around by virtue of a feud with Randy Orton. It halted for some time when the Hall of Famer tore his triceps in June. But the two veterans summed it up during Rumble and the following night on Raw.
