Being an event in Canada, it’s certain that WWE roster members from the USA’s neighbor country will feature in marquee matches on that night. Additionally, a unique main event could also take place.

Gunther has been a strong champion on Smackdown
Since winning the championship in mid-2022, Gunther has been outspoken about uplifting the prestige of the Intercontinental Championship. With his ongoing reign, he’s just been doing the same as one strong champion on the Smackdown roster.
At present, Gunther has crossed 200 days as the reigning Intercontinental Champion since winning the title on the June 10th episode of Smackdown, by defeating Ricochet. WWE featuring the IC Title in the main event capacity of Elimination Chamber could also elevate Gunther’s current status from the mid-card to the marquee card.

Elimination Chamber 2023 will be the final stop before Wrestlemania 39
January’s WWE Royal Rumble marks the beginning of the Road to WrestleMania 39 while the following month Elimination Chamber 2023 returns as a premium live event, serving as the final stop before WWE’s biggest event of the year as there won’t be any WWE Network Specials in March.
As of this writing, no matches or superstars have been confirmed for the second PLE of 2023 but chances are high that WWE will hold separate men’s and women’s Elimination Chamber matches, similar to how the company handles the Royal Rumble, WarGames, or other gimmick matches.

We’ll have to wait some more to get the lineups confirmed.
