Extreme Rules 2022 premium live event takes place Saturday, October 8 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The event streaming live on Peacock/WWE Network will be the third last PLE in WWE’s calendar and it has shaped up to be a pretty stacked card.
Each of the matches announced for Extreme Rules 2022 has an added stipulation attached to it which makes perfect sense since this is that particular event of the year where matches take place under different capacities.

Xero News has provided a previous backstage update on the match card of Extreme Rules 2022 by stating that 6/7 matches are expected to take place at the PLE. Within those matches, there won’t be any tag team or Intercontinental title defenses.
The source has also provided more updates about the potential marquee match of the evening. In the absence of the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, it seems that WWE wants either Edge vs. Finn Balor or Bianca Belair vs. Bayley to be the main event of Extreme Rules 2022,
“The Extreme Rules main event is a toss-up right now between Edge/Balor or Bianca/Bayley. I was told last night the current belief is whichever one doesn’t main event will open the show. Fight Pit is in the middle of the card (will be suspended and lowered).”

Going by the history of this event, an Extreme Rules Match generally concludes things as the final match. This year the Smackdown Women’s Title match between the champion Liv Morgan and the challenger Ronda Rousey should be the main event but that’s reportedly not the choice for the WWE Officials, as of this writing.
Meanwhile, WWE has announced another gimmick match for Extreme Rules 2022 where Sheamus’ Brawling Brutes stable will take on Intercontinental Champion Gunther’s Imperium stable in a 6-man Tag Team Donnybrook Match. This would be the second Donnybrook match in WWE history following McIntyre and Sheamus battling it out in this environment back in July.
