On the final edition of WWE Monday Night Raw in 2019, Randy Orton talked about Edge being forced to retire in his promo while he was faking his knee injury. It did not happen by coincidence, at all if reports from Brad Shepard are to be believed,

“A source in WWE told me it wasn’t a coincidence that Randy Orton mentioned Edge’s name during a promo on RAW.”

WWE Positively Thinks Edge Will Return To Action In 2020

More updates were given in this context by another reliable source who hinted about backstage plans ongoing for the comeback. PWInsider.com is reporting that Edge was spotted at several WWE TV tapings in recent weeks.

It has raised even more speculation of Edge’s in-ring return being imminent. It should happen around or at the Royal Rumble 2020 PPV.

Multiple options are being also nurtured for Edge’s in-ring opponents. As reported earlier, John Cena is a discussed opponent for the Rated R Superstar as these two can create a nostalgia act from WWE’s Ruthless Aggression Era.

Also, Seth Rollins is a viable option to set up a program with Edge as these two also had a brief history in the past. Seth is currently working as the top-most heel on Raw roster whereas the returnee will organically become a super babyface upon return. It could automatically begin a feud in the due source.
