One of the most popular modern-generation female WWE Superstars, Liv Morgan could be out of action for a long time, owing to an ongoing injury. Initially diagnosed as a not-so-fatal one, the injury turned out to be quite serious which firstly forced her to relinquish the women’s tag team titles. Now, she is likely to undergo surgery which should stretch up her hiatus from the WWE.
Liv Morgan’s injury took place during the May 12 episode of SmackDown, where she and Raquel Rodriguez successfully defended the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles against Bayley and Dakota Kai of DAMAGE CTRL. It was in this same match that Kai also suffered an injury to get sidelined.
During the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez mentioned that Liv Morgan is dealing with a shoulder injury. While it’s yet to be confirmed, she might require surgery. In that case, we shouldn’t expect the former Riott Squad member to return to action for months.
In the same report, it was affirmed that Kai suffered a torn ACL in that match and she was also trying to protect Liv Morgan, knowing that she was working in that match in an injured state. Kai is scheduled to go into the operation theatre for surgery, tonight and her expected recovery period should range within 4-6 months.

Liv Morgan had an incredible run in WWE throughout 2022-23 season
Liv Morgan had a tremendous run as a singles star in the WWE in 2022. The success story began with the Money in the Bank contract win in July of last year. On that same night, she cashed in the contract and defeated Ronda Rousey to win the Smackdown Women’s Championship. At one point, she was the only WWE Superstar in history to have defeated The Baddest Woman on the Planet, twice via pinfall.
At the Royal Rumble 2023, Liv Morgan lasted for more than in the Women’s Rumble match before getting eliminated as the 29th superstar by the eventual winner, Rhea Ripley. Moving on, she and Raquel Rodriguez captured the tag titles during the April 10 episode of Monday Night Raw. The two defeated Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus, who was filling in for Lita to win the gold.
Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez successfully defended their titles against Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville and DAMAGE CTRL on TV and at WWE live events. Despite being advertised for a match against Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green on last week’s Raw, Liv was unable to compete due to an injury. Then on Smackdown, WWE announced that the titles were vacated.
