Maria Kanellis started in the WWE as the most innocent character that one could expect to see in the locker room in the Ruthless Aggression Era. Her initial run in the company saw her playing eye candy valets for stars like Santino or even John Cena. This was a trait that was totally different from her real-life character as she’s an outspoken person who loves to take a stand if it matters.
Due to budget cut releases, Maria Kanellis and her husband Mike Bennett were let go by WWE a couple of years ago. Almost a decade ago, she was also let go by Donald Trump’s Celebrity Appearance Show for being outspoken but she doesn’t have any regret about that. But she does have an issue with how the hosts have forced her to apologize for those comments.

Maria Kanellis didn’t want to apologize for her comments
Speaking about that experience on NBC’s “Ten Count” podcast, Maria Kanellis revealed that she regrets how she was forced to apologize under extreme pressure from the management as she wasn’t really sorry, at all,
“I don’t regret bringing something up that was supposed to be funny and it wasn’t taken that way. But why, as a woman, am I not allowed to talk that way? The only thing I regret is apologizing for it after the fact. They wanted me to apologize on the finale and I was pressured to apologize and so I did, but ever since then I’m like, why? Why did I apologize? I didn’t do anything wrong.” (quotes courtesy Wrestling INC)
A few weeks ago, Maria Kanellis along with Mike Bennett and Matt Taven showed up on AEW Dynamite, Fightful Select then reported that The Kingdom members have indeed signed multi-year contracts with the company to stay there for the foreseeable future. Wrestling INC also mentioned that the three former Ring of Honor stars should be signing the contracts since their obligations with IMPACT Wrestling had come to an end.
