The saga between Matt Riddle and Candy Cartwright to be moving towards a new direction over what transpired in the past couple of days. Earlier this year, the #SpeakingOut movement took over the pro-wrestling circuit where a number of wrestlers were accused of sexual abuse to their colleagues. Several renowned, as well as indie names, came out with their experiences to shake things up.
One of the accused persons from WWE was Matt Riddle who was accused by indie wrestler Candy Cartwright, real name Samantha Tavel. She made accusations of molesting him during the #SpeakingOut movement. She also brought out proofs against the current Smackdown roster member over social media pointing how this man has been cheating his wife with her.

Matt Riddle has never accepted those allegations despites cozy pictures with Candy Cartwright went viral on the internet as the latter released more of those. Now the Original Bro has filed a civil lawsuit against the woman he previously had an affair with.
The Smackdown star recently dropped his petition for a restraining order against Candy Cartwright, hearing on a motion before a court to dismiss. You can read full details on the restraining order petition and Riddle’s voluntary dismissal.
Now, Riddle’s lawyer, Daniel Rose, issued a statement to announce the civil suit and commented on the petition that was dismissed. Rose noted that Matt Riddle is filing the suit for Candy Cartwright’s “continued false and defamatory statements that our client sexually assaulted her.”
Candy Cartwright has not responded to the civil suit announcement, but she posted a tweet while potentially commenting on the reports on Riddle’s petition dismissal. She has apparently received help from the TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund, which connects sexual misconduct victims with legal and PR assistance. She also thanked everyone for their support while writing the following,
“I would like to thank @TIMESUPLDF for helping me through these difficult months and helping me push back against these claims. I also want to thank everyone who supported me in this. I appreciate every single one of you.”
Matt Riddle previously released a video denying the sexual assault allegations, but he admitted having affair with Candy Cartwright. He thanked his wife to be staying by his side through these tough times. The sexual misconducts were supposed to ruin his WWE career but thankfully, that didn’t happen, to date.
