Michelle McCool is a former WWE Women’s Champion as well as the WWE Divas Champion. She was part of an era where WWE female talents weren’t known for their in-ring skills but it’s safe to say that she made a name for herself as one of the top female WWE Superstars through her time as an active performer.
Michelle McCool is also married to The Undertaker, the greatest in-ring performer in the world of sports entertainment but she didn’t obviously want to live in his shadows. However, it was this relationship that ultimately force her to leave the business after getting too much heat for dating such a huge co-star of hers. This wasn’t the first time that she had a bitter experience in the locker room.
The Undertaker Scrapped WWE Storyline Booked For Michelle McCool
There was an angle in WWE that received a ton of criticism involved the two-time WWE Women’s Champion Michelle McCool engaging in a rivalry with Mickie James. In the late 2009 and early 2010s, which McCool and her then-tag team partner Layla would make fun of James’ weight. They’d often refer to her as “Piggy James” in that time of WWE programming which used to be non-PG.

Michelle McCool and Mickie James were part of a controversial feud on WWE TV
Obviously, there’s no place for such angles on today’s WWE PG TV and for all the right reasons, one of the talents featuring in that angle has hatred toward that pitch of the storyline.
“That storyline wouldn’t have worked had it been with anybody else other than you. The emotions were real at times. I tried to tell people, I would come up to you and apologize beforehand. I’m like, ‘This is hurtful. Like, this is legit, makes me cringe,’ which is why it did work … You were the ultimate professional,” Michelle McCool told James as they both appeared on a recent episode of GAW TV.
“I haven’t watch it back. It really did hurt my heart going through that … That is not my character … It was really an internal struggle for me.” (quotes courtesy Wrestling INC)
Happenings from McCool-James rivalry
During that time, James and Michelle McCool had two pay-per-view matches, with the latter winning the first and thus retaining her WWE Women’s Championship. But James ultimately got her revenge by defeating McCool for the title in about 20 seconds at Royal Rumble 2010.
This reign didn’t last long as a month later, Michelle McCool would win the title back on an episode of SmackDown and go on to enjoy a dominating run with the title alongside Layla. A year later, the team LayCool fell apart as Layla defeated McCool at Extreme Rules in a Loser Leaves WWE match.
