The 2021 Women’s Royal Rumble match featured a number of returns including Mickie James who was away from the squared circle for quite a few months. She had been out for a while after suffering an injury. Eventually, she was also cleared to make a return to in-ring competition but WWE never had any intentions to bring her back to any storyline.
However, Mickie James does have the intention to make a full-time comeback and then make a statement upon her Rumble return. She wanted to make an impressive appearance so that WWE officials can keep her under the radar with the WrestleMania 37 season approaching. She herself plans to be a great heel in the future, though, perhaps for one final run.

Mickie James spoke about her Royal Rumble gear during a recent appearance on GAW TV. She wanted to present a mature “Grown Ass Woman” character at the Royal Rumble related to the talk show. She’s been through quite a few character-changes in the company, over the years. James wanted to make a statement at Royal Rumble with a special design attached to her gear, though.

Mickie James hoping for a heel run
Check out her Mickie James’ below comments where she wanted to retain the design of Rumble costume for future purposes.
“I had Adolfo Canaca work and design, and we worked together to kind of designed this gear. We then obviously sent to it Rick Michaels to do a lot of the crystal and reinforce for wrestling purposes; because he usually does all my gear.”
“I had been saving [the design] for a special moment, thinking heel turn or something, just to present, to step away from the bellbottoms and step more into the grown-ass woman that I truly am. Because, I felt like, as much as I like the bellbottoms, and the flairs and all this stuff and how big it makes everything look,”
“I felt like it still made me look a bit childish in a way and it wasn’t who I was today. That evolution. I was just trying to find out how can I still embrace everything that I am and have Mickie James flair on it. I need bells and whistles. Fringe!”

We’ll have to see if and when Mickie James shows up on WWE TV again on full-time purpose as she’s still listed as a Raw roster member. She is not ready to be declared aa a Legend just yet. She wants to do something more before hanging up the boots.
Mickie James has the ability to perform in the ring to the best of her capabilities. The big question is whether WWE could use her in a proper way as this would be a way to put over some fresh faces. Let’s see if her Royal Rumble gear retention comes to any use or not. In the meantime, the six-time Women’s Champion would be seen hosting GAW TV with SoCal Val and another Rumble returnee, Victoria.
