NXT Deadline 2022 is set for this weekend and the show will have a tag team bout on the card. Pretty Deadly has been on top of the WWE NXT tag team division as they’re enjoying their second run as Champions. The duo, namely Elton Prince and Kit Wilson has been encountered with top NXT tag teams in the past and now they’re set to face one of the all-time greats in a title match set for the next pay-per-view event of WWE.
In the latest episode of NXT, NXT Tag Team Champions Pretty Deadly presented “A Real Christmas Story” where they plugged in their recent success. They said that they have defeated every Tag Team and that they won’t ever lose their NXT Tag Team Titles.
WWE NXT Results (06/12/22): Iron Survivor Challenge Participants; Smackdown Stars Appear
After claiming that 2023 will be an even better year for them, SmackDown’s The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) showed up and issued a challenge for the NXT Tag Team Titles at NXT Deadline 2022. Pretty Deadly tried to attack them, but New Day eventually dodged out of the way.
The 11-time Tag Team Champions in WWE then posed with the titles in the ring to end the segment. After this, The New Day vs. Pretty Deadly for the tag titles were officially announced for NXT Deadline 2022.
The reigning champions broke into the scene in 2019 as part of the NXT UK brand. Pretty Deadly, first racked up the vacant NXT Tag Team Titles, before dropping them two months later.
The two then regained their gold in a fatal-4-way elimination match to unify the NXT and NXT UK Tag Team Championships at the Worlds Collide 2022 premium live event in September. They have since defended their titles against the likes of Brawling Brutes and Chase U. Now, they’ll put their titles on the line against one of the most-decorated tag teams of WWE at NXT Deadline 2022.
