The ongoing beef between Grayson Waller and Shawn Michaels will produce a match at NXT Stand and Deliver 2023. The top heel of the NXT roster has been involved in a storyline with the WWE Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative over the past several months and it really escalated during the latest episode of NXT.
Also dubbed as the NXT Roadblock 2023 special, the Tuesday night special had Michaels as a guest on “The Grayson Waller Effect” talk show. During this segment, Waller challenged Michaels to a match at NXT Stand and Deliver 2023. Michaels denied the offer citing reasons that he’s retired from competition for the past several years.

After this declaration, Michaels revealed that former NXT Champion and current Raw Superstar Johnny Gargano will instead of Waller’s opponent at NXT Stand and Deliver 2023. Soon after this, the former Heart and Soul of NXT came out to a thunderous reception from the audience. He was quick to take out Waller to end the segment.

As their bout at NXT Stand and Deliver 2023 has been confirmed, it should be noted that Gargano and Waller have a history, together that goes way back to Gargano’s farewell feud from NXT in December 2021. As he was giving his farewell speech, Waller came out from behind and attacked him. Gargano last competed in a match at NXT during the 2021 WarGames PLE before getting the main roster call-up.
Waller then began his feud with Michaels after crashing in the Vengeance Day post-show media call, a move that also led to him getting suspended. Waller returned on the February 14 episode of NXT but he was kicked out of the arena by Michaels. This led Waller to call HBK “a hypocrite and a suit” which in turn set up the Grayson Waller talk-show appearance at Roadblock.

WWE NXT Stand and Deliver premium live event will take place at 1 PM ET on Saturday, April 1 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. This will be one of the events amongst WWE’s WrestleMania 39 weekend festivities. The currently confirmed match card for the event is given below,
