Persia Pirotta appeared to be a perfect matchup for the revamped NXT 2.0 brand which brings out the edginess in many ways. Be it dressing sexier like the women’s champion Mandy Rose or getting involved in edgy romantic tidbits with Duke Hudson, the Australian superstar found a way to feature prominently on television over the past few months. But then she was ultimately released from the contract.
The spring cleaning tradition continued in the WWE with the release of multiple NXT superstars, as of last week. Alongside the likes of Malcolm Bivens, Dakota Kai, Harland, and more, Persia Pirotta was also let go of her contract. She originally signed with the company back in 2019 and that agreement was coming to an end, anyways. Same was the case for Kai Bivens, as per the recent reports while WWE never addressed the situation.

As reported earlier, Persia Pirotta was pretty aware of her situation in the locker room. WWE using her in adultery angles instead of in-ring action came as a warning for her that she was on the verge of letting go. So in a previous interview, she already mentioned how she was not taken aback by the release, at all. Plus, she believes that there are some more names who could be trimmed down, soon from the roster.
Persia Pirotta wants to bring out her best after WWE release
In another conversation with Sean Ross Sapp, Persia Pirotta opened up more about her release from WWE. The Australian superstar made it clear she will make the best out of this situation. By any means, she won’t get depressed after losing her dream job so that the release would destroy her,
“I could very easily let this thing that happened destroy me and tuck my tail between my legs and cower home and do all those things. Or I can try and find the positives in a situation which I truly believe there are some positives in this situation and make the most of it and just continue with everything that I did before WWE.”
At this point, Persia Pirotta is serving the mandatory no-compete clause that would last for 30 days counting from the day of her release. That makes her a free agent from June and she has already started taking bookings from around the indie scene. Time will tell whether she can make an impact outside the WWE.
