However, he is likely to be present in the next big stadium show in late May.
A few days ago, WWE announced that Night of Champions will go down in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on May 27. It will be an unusual afternoon show for the USA fans but being a Saudi international show, it will come with a loaded card. Given the name Night of Champions, possibilities are high that most of the title matches will be in title match capacity and Roman Reigns should be one of those names to defend his title.

Ringside News reached out to confirm about the next world title defense scheduled in the WWE and they learned that it will happen after more than a month. A tenured member of the creative team confirmed to them that Roman Reigns will be working the Night of Champions show in Saudi Arabia and that does mean his Undisputed WWE Universal Title will be on the line.

No update on Roman Reigns’ next opponent for undisputed titles
Since Roman Reigns’ opponent was not confirmed by the source, speculations will continue to unfold over a couple of contenders in sight. The Bloodline saga continues to escalate and many believe that a Jey Uso turn-on could be in-store to set him up for another title match against The Tribal Chief. Things could be heating up among The Bloodline when their leader returns from this ongoing hiatus.
Roman Reigns was always off the card after Wrestlemania 39
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter previously dropped a note in a recent issue about Roman Reigns and they confirmed that he wasn’t supposed to be on the Backlash card, but he will wrestle again over the next few months.
“Reigns will not be on the San Juan card, or at least that wasn’t the plan on Monday, but he will be doing other major events over the next few months.”
In the absence of Roman Reigns, WWE has booked Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar to be the main event of Backlash after what transpired on the Raw after WrestleMania. As for the Bloodline, it was represented by The Usos and Solo Sikoa but the card didn’t have their Tribal Chief.
