WWE News: Potential Opponent For Roman Reigns At Summerslam 2019

Roman Reigns returned from a Leukemia situation back in February 2019 receiving tremendous rounds of applause. This was in a long time that WWE Universe showered him universal positive reactions. The company was happy to hear those and pit him against bonafide heels so that the reactions from the fans do not change.

First Match Announced For Stomping Grounds Featuring Roman Reigns

Is It Easy For Roman Reigns To Appear On Both WWE Raw & Smackdown?

This is why we have received a Wrestlemania program between Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns. Later, Elias and Shane McMahon entered the scene to set up beef with the poster boy. The rivalries are producing multiple matches and thereby taking The Big Dog through the initial phase of summer. Will they continue feuding even when Summerslam appears? Most probably, no as per the recent suggestion from a reliable source.

As per the updates from ringsidenews.com, Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton is a long-term planned feud ever since Super Shakeup passed by. Originally this match could have happened at Stomping Grounds PPV, as per initial match advertisements. But the program may have postponed eyeing Smackdown’s TV broadcast change in the fall to Fox Sports.

Roman Reigns Reveals Why He Is Going Back To Saudi Arabia

Hence the first match between Roman Reigns and Randy Orton may happen at Summerslam 2019 and the may continue after the PPV show passes by. As for now, Reigns vs. McIntyre is advertised for Stomping Grounds whereas Roman vs. Shane and Drew McIntyre could be the lineup for Extreme Rules PPV in July of this year.

The source also hinted that the outcome of Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton feud will be interesting to see. The latter one’s contract will be up for grabs in the month of December. Many think that Orton is a WWE-guy but that may not be the case as AEW already contacted him. On Fightful’s post-show, Sean Ross Sapp mentioned the same for the first time, months ago.

He doubted that Randy Orton may not be fully leaning on staying with the WWE as you can see in below comments from the source, (courtesy ringsidenews.com)

“Now they did not reveal the name and I know who the name is. Now before I get into this, I am not saying that this person was offered an AEW deal. I’m not saying that happened because I don’t if that happened. In fact, I asked people in AEW about this and I was told, “We are not tampering. We are not doing that. Our approach is fresh and independent is the goal for the majority of our recruitment.”

“What I was told this afternoon, was that Randy Orton has been openly discussing his willingness to speak with All Elite Wrestling. “
