As seen on the post-WrestleMania 39 episode of Monday Night Raw, Brock Lesnar became the center of attention after he attacked Cody Rhodes at a point when he was supposed to feature in a tag team match with him. The two were inserted into the lineup against The Bloodline’s Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa to set up a mega and unique main event on Raw’s April 3rd episode.
This match was made after Rhodes demanded a rematch against Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship which was denied. But then the tag team match was announced with the stipulation that if Rhodes and Brock Lesnar had won the match then Cody would have earned a rematch for the championship. To the dismay of Cody, the match never got underway in the first place.
WWE Backlash 2023: Brock Lesnar Could Be Involved In High-Voltage Match
Brock Lesnar rather attacked Rhodes for nearly seven minutes and that tag team match was ruled to be a no-contest. This is the first time that Lesnar turned heel since his return to the WWE at SummerSlam 2021. The brutal beatdown to Cody ended with an F5 through the announce table and then on the steel steps to cap off things. Adam Pearce and other WWE Officials came out to stop the attacker but the damage was already done by then.

Brock Lesnar was possibly irate over missing from WrestleMania 39 main event spot
The exact reason behind the attack is still not clear but speaking about it incident on this past episode of SmackDown, commentator Wade Barrett mentioned that he “heard” Brock Lesnar was said to have been “mad” during WrestleMania. He is furious that his match with Omos kicked off WrestleMania 39: Night Two while Cody got to feature in the main event. This story should unfold more on this coming episode of Raw.
Ringside News also reached out to ask about Brock Lesnar’s heel turn. They wanted to learn the timing of determining this move and the possible head behind this move against the previous reports claiming that the decision for The Beast to “team” with Cody Rhodes and then turn on him was decided on the day of the post-WrestleMania 39 edition of Raw.
The source was told that Brock Lesnar’s heel turn was decided “at least a month before WrestleMania.” At that point, a few members of the creative team “were given the heads-up about Brock’s turn happening the day after WrestleMania.” So, the belief is that not everyone in the creative was entirely dark about the character change which should now produce a one-on-one match between the two at an upcoming WWE Premium Live Event.
