There’s a lot of stuff going on around WWE Raw and SmackDown as we’re heading into SummerSlam. The creative team has come up with the idea of Raw Underground fight environment and the invasion of Retribution faction. These two ideas have lately been generating a ton of attention that in turn, has pulled up the TV ratings.
There’ve been some speculations on the utilization of superstars in the future. Vince McMahon is particularly focusing on some of the names of Raw and SmackDown who could receive a big push in the near future. New Day’s Big E is one of them who could expect good news in the future over his position on the roster.
The former SmackDown tag team champion is currently enjoying a solo run as his partners, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston have been out of action with injuries (While Xavier is out for months now after suffering a leg injury in 2019, Kofi’s injury is just a kayfabe storyline as he needed time-off to spend times with his family).
The Wrestling Observer has reported reporting that this singles run of Big E on SmackDown could eventually lead to a singles Championship match for him, at some point. Who knows whether this could also produce a title run for him, too.
It’s not known whether if it could happen over the Intercontinental Championship or the Universal Championship since these two are the two prime singles titles present on SmackDown.
Big E previously won the Intercontinental Championship in the year 2014. So a hunt for the Universal Championship could be the way WWE may be heading in especially considering how his singles push is getting noticed. E defeated The Miz on SmackDown with a new finisher that also hinted the same.
The only thing that could prohibit E from reaching new heights is how WWE CEO Vince McMahon’s opinions keep on frequently changing on different wrestlers on Raw and SmackDown.
According to a new report from the Wrestling Observer, The Boss has become a huge fan of SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley and her current gimmick. He loves her persona and it’s no wonder why the Role Model has surpassed 300 days as the champion. He reportedly wants Bayley’s persona to remain “forever” in a 4-hour meeting that went down on July 31st.
Moving on from SmackDown, McMahon also considers two Raw superstars for a big push. Bianca Belair and Peyton Royce of The IIconics are these two reported named who could find themselves as two top singles stars on the flagship brand. It should be noted how all of these talents have already started to get more TV presence on RAW than they used to.
