Toni Storm had been absent from NXT for weeks, earlier the year which led fans to worry about her. Given that the company is undergoing cost-cutting policies since last year, fans must have been worrying about a release. But thankfully, WWE started airing vignettes on her proclaiming that her SmackDown debut was close.

The debut eventually happened as she picked up a couple of back-to-back wins on the blue brand. But then Toni Storm went missing from last week’s Smackdown that caused the fans to worry even more considering WWE’s poor track record of utilizing popular NXT Superstars. There’s concern about the bright talent who could go missing from the scene on short notice.

As noted, Toni Storm was just getting started on SmackDown to be adjusting into the storylines but then she went missing from last week’s edition of Smackdown from Florida. Ringside News asked around about her status and they were told that she was in Tampa for the show. But they simply didn’t use her during the show due to inadequate creative plans,

“We’ve been asked by a few of our awesome readers about Toni Storm’s status after missing #SmackDown. We asked and were told that she was actually in Tampa, but not used for the show. Sad.”

Toni Storm could have a bright future in WWE

So the concern around the Australian talent still exists given all her fellow countrymen have been released from the WWE, earlier this year. WWE is shredding their roster in a big way, and it doesn’t matter if any targeted superstar is making television appearances. WWE President Nick Khan and CFO Kristina Salen’s measures to trim the bottom part of the roster can still be ongoing.

We can only hope that Toni Storm will eventually find her way back on TV especially when the Smackdown female roster is in deep need of fresh faces. We will see whether the creative team will have anything in-store for her on this week’s episode from Oklahoma.

The 25-year-old Toni Storm has seen a lot in her career by traveling all around the world before coming to the WWE. She’s been through a lot and accomplished a lot who also has high hopes from WWE. It’s up to the company whether they can make good use of her and churn out a top superstar. As of now, winning the NXT UK Women’s Title and Mae Young Classic 2018 remains her highest achievement in the company while her ultimate goal remains to become the new Smackdown Women’s Champion.
