Following their loss to the Riott Squad, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce no more stand as a tag team. It was a hard time for the duo who has suddenly been disbanded in WWE’s female tag team division.
WWE announced this match during Raw with a career-changing stipulation attached that really didn’t make sense. The Riott Squad beat the IIconics to become number-one contenders for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. Being the losers IIconics could never be a team with each other, again.

It should be noted that Peyton Royce and Billie Kay have been together as a tag team since and hence the tears these two shed in their post-match interview on Monday, were real. Breaking up the IIconics wasn’t received that well within the Internet Wrestling Community due to this reason. #IIconicsForever trended through social media whereas WWE seems to have a good reason for breaking up the team.

Fans of the Australian duo have been much worried about the future of the IIconics. Ringside News has now reported that Vince McMahon pulled the trigger on breaking up The IIconics on Monday afternoon. It was a big shocker. not everyone was aware of the decision and thus it created confusion, backstage, to say the least.
Vince McMahon apparently sees a lot of potential in Peyton Royce as a singles competitor. She was a separate topic in a recent call where McMahon had a lot to say about being a future singles Superstar. The idea to split her off from Billie Kay has always been around and it was finally used.
The source also added that breaking up the IIconics could mark Peyton Royce’s big “breakout moment.” It’s unclear what the actual plan could be. Their follow-up appearance on Raw Underground witnessed Billie Kay getting knocked out by Jessamyn Duke.
During PW Insider Elite audio, Mike Johnson discussed the IIconics’ breakup. He supported that this was done as a medium to push Peyton Royce, as previously reported. Perhaps, it’s only a matter of time that she could go into the title picture whereas Kay would be buried. Here’s more from the source,
“I was told by several people that Peyton Royce is earmarked for a singles push, they’ve decided that they wanted to push her, and this is not the case of Billie Kay’s leaving the company or anything like that.”
“I was told that it’s just they want to push Peyton Royce and try and go in a different direction with her. As you noticed, Bille Kay kind of got wiped out on RAW Underground, so my guess perhaps they are going to take her off tv, or put her on SmackDown or somewhere else, but I am told that the reason this happened was not some immediate punishment or immediate issue.”
