Kurt Angle earned fame after winning a gold medal in Olympics back by the end of the 90s. But it was WWE who gave him the primary fame as he signed a contract offered by Chairman Vince McMahon. He had an amazing first year in WWE who feuded against several top Superstars including Triple H. In fact, it appeared to be a love triangle also featuring Stephanie McMahon.
While Triple H and Stephanie McMahon were the real-life love birds, Kurt Angle became the on-screen flame of the latter for a time being. The angle also featured a kiss between the two of them which appeared to be an awkward one. At least, it was not a comfortable scene for a sportsman to kiss The Boss’ daughter in front of him.
While speaking on ‘The Kurt Angle Show’, the WWE Hall of Famer revealed that he was very nervous during that segment in which he kissed Stephanie McMahon, backstage. The Billion Dollar Princess was knocked out, accidentally during a match between the Angle and Triple H. Angle was trying to console her, backstage but he ended up kissing her.
“Oh, this was ridiculously weird. I mean, you know, come backstage with Stephanie, and I had to do a pre-tape that was going live. So, we weren’t going to tape it; it was going to be a one-take. I think Vince did that on purpose, so we only had to kiss once. But, I also know we didn’t have the time to pre-tape it, so that was probably the real issue.”

Kurt Angle then noted that Vince McMahon was just four feet away from him when he was kissing Stephanie McMahon, which had to be the most uncomfortable scene in the world for the multi-time world champion.
“But, you know, we got backstage, and Vince wanted to direct it (laughs). I was like, ‘holy sh*t,’ Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon’s father, is going to direct me kissing her during a pre-tape. I was nervous as hell. Vince was four feet away, and his eyes were this open; he was just looking. I’m like, ‘This is so weird, man.’ I don’t know how I’m going to do this, so I went down to kiss her, and we caught eyes, and then we went to kiss and stuck my lips out like this.”

In a previous discussion, the former Olympian also revealed that Stephanie wanted the kiss to be as passionate as it should be real. But with Vinnie Mac directing the scene, the star paired opposite her had the least opportunity to enjoy the scene. He actually kissed like a ‘damn fish!’
Meanwhile, that feud with Triple H helped Kurt Angle to cement his spot at the top league of the WWE who went on to main-eventing WrestleManias, afterward. Being a veteran, The Game helped the newcomer in this league to receive the identity even if he had her own girlfriend involving in a romantic angle with somebody else.
