However, their times as reigning champions may be coming to an end as WWE creative team has come to an agreement to take their titles away. Both men will now be dropping their Titles next month. Kofi Kingston will lose the WWE Championship to Brock Lesnar on the October 4th edition of SmackDown on FOX whereas Seth Rollins will lose the Universal Championship to “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt at Hell In A Cell 2019.

CM Punk Appears In Tryout, Potential WWE Return On The Horizon?

According to The Dirty Sheets, the officials have found a solid reason behind giving up on both Kofi Kingston and Seth Rollins. WWE officials don’t consider Kofi & Seth’s Title reigns as a success as none of them has succeeded to break into the top 5 merchandise sellers list. 2. “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt

3. Becky Lynch

4. John Cena

5. AJ Styles

The source also revealed that both the champions failed to pull more attendance on their respective shows during the prime time as champions. Kofi Kingston losing the title on SmackDown’s debut on FOX was the original for quite a while now. But the decision of WWE pulling the plug on Rollins’ Title reign happened after Wyatt’s Fiend gimmick got hot. Wwfoldschool.com revealed the original planning for the two champions,

“The original plan for the Kofi-Brock feud was for Brock to tease a Money In The Bank cash-in on Rollins for months, but eventually cash-in on Kofi on SmackDown’s debut on FOX and win the Title. However, Vince McMahon felt WWE desperately needed a big match for SummerSlam 2019, so they pulled the trigger on Brock’s MITB cash-in at Extreme Rules and this led to Lesnar vs. Rollins in the main event of SummerSlam.”

Instead of a Money In The Bank cash-in, WWE decided to announce Kofi Kingston vs. Brock Lesnar on Smackdown. Also, the originally supposed Wrestlemania 36 match between Seth Rollins and The Fiend will now take place at Wrestlemania 36.
