Rhea Ripley had a solid start to her WWE career as she ended up winning the Raw Women’s Championship in the very first match as part of her main roster run. Although a heel, she picked up a clean pinfall win over Raw’s prime babyface name Asuka to win the gold at the biggest stage of WrestleMania. Her on-screen character is likely to change in the coming weeks.

At Money In The Bank 2021, Rhea Ripley lost the RAW Women’s Championship to Charlotte Flair as she was forced to tap out to the Figure- Eight Leg Lock submission hold. They then had a title rematch the next night on RAW which ended in a DQ which was a way to protect the former champion. This was done since WWE was making changes to her TV character.

WWE is reportedly moving forward with Rhea Ripley as a full-fledged babyface on Raw. This babyface run had quietly happened over the last few weeks, according to PWInsider. This was pretty evident as her present rival Charlotte Flair was digesting all the heel heats, especially after winning the Raw Women’s Title for the fifth time in her career.

Rhea Ripley will no more be a villain

Now, Rhea Ripley’s transformation was made clear internally as well as on TV. Moving forward, she will no more be acting as a heel figure. The report noted that she will be a 100% babyface figure from now on. There’s no update on whether this character change will continue the feud between her and Flair. They could still be gunning for the title, after all.

Following their rematch on July 19 episode, Rhea Ripley attacked Charlotte Flair after the match. She planted The Queen with a Riptide on the floor and thereby laid her down, a move that led to Nikki Cross A.S.H. running out to successfully cash in her Women’s Money In The Bank contract on Charlotte and win the RAW Women’s Championship.

There’s no confirmed word yet on what WWE has planned for Rhea Ripley after dropping the belt but it appears that a three-way storyline could unfold in time for SummerSlam 2021. On Saturday’s WWE Supershow in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Nikki Cross A.S.H. defeated Flair and Ripley in a Triple Threat Match to retain the RAW Women’s Title. Perhaps the same lineup will be seen at SummerSlam.
