Roman Reigns
WWE

Roman Reigns is seen in action only on a handful of occasions in the entire year in the WWE following his contract renewal with the company in 2022. We haven’t seen him defending his championship on live WWE TV since Wrestlemania 39 Night Two and there’s no confirmed update on when he will do so, next. However, he’ll be going through a rare title match in a house show.

Roman Reigns vs. Rey Mysterio set for this Saturday night

It has now been confirmed that Roman Reigns will defend his undisputed title on Saturday, June 17, at the Heritage Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio. His opponent will be Rey Mysterio who is currently involved in a storyline with Latino World Order as a member of the faction. Previously, Rey challenged the champion for the title in a Hell in a Cell match on Smackdown in 2021 and lost.

Roman Reigns broke CM Punk’s record for the WWE Title

As the unforgettable run continues, Roman Reigns has recently also toppled another record held by CM Punk in WWE. At Survivor Series 2011, Punk captured the WWE Championship and then held on to the prestigious title for an impressive 434 days.

Before that reign, Punk also won the WWE Title at Money in the Bank in July 2011, which led to a 28-day reign before briefly leaving the company only to return before Summerslam. During that absence, Rey Mysterio and John Cena had their championship reigns before Punk reclaimed the title at SummerSlam. But he soon lost it to Alberto Del Rio on that same night who cashed in his Money in the Bank contract.
