In what appears to be really scary news from WWE’s perspective, Roman Reigns appeared to be legit injured coming out of this past weekend’s Summerslam. premium live event. While he will be missing a couple of WWE PLEs due to this and his part-time schedule, the long-term storytelling of the WWE won’t be affected due to the injury which is a good thing. As you can guess, the ongoing title won’t be affected at all.

Roman Reigns missed the post-Summerslam press conference and was replaced by his Wise Man Paul Heyman which started rumors about the injury. Then last night during the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer disclosed that the top-most attraction in WWE today indeed injured himself just minutes after The Tribal Combat started at the latest bygone PLE.

Roman Reigns injured during Summerslam main event

Being a veteran name inside the squared circle, Roman Reigns finished the contest with that injury. While nothing has been confirmed regarding his future, it appears that he won’t be seen in action until Survivor Series, later this year,

“Roman Reigns got hurt in that match… I heard it was relatively early. I don’t know the nature of the injury, I just heard he worked the match hurt. He got hurt early in the match. I don’t know what his schedule is but he’s going to be on the show Friday night. I would presume he’s going to be on Survivor Series, I don’t know that as fact.”

Footage revealed of Roman Reigns’ injury spot

Fightful Select has also confirmed the above reports by stating that Roman Reigns did indeed suffer an injury during the SummerSlam main event which occurred early in the contest. It doesn’t appear to be serious enough to affect immediate plans. Furthermore, Wrestling News also offered the exact spot which could have injured The tribal Chief.

Despite the injured status, Roman Reigns will be in attendance for this week’s Friday Night SmackDown where WWE has booked him in a ‘Hail to the Chief’ segment, which will see Jimmy Uso acknowledge his cousin as the Tribal Chief.

Jey Uso should also be in attendance to invade this segment to set up a potential showdown against Jimmy at Payback. Meanwhile, Roman Reigns isn’t expected to perform at WWE Payback and Fastlane, respectively in September and October.
