In the main event of Wrestlemania 40 Night One, the team of The Rock and WWE Champion Roman Reigns defeated Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins in what was touted to be the biggest tag team match of all time in WWE history.
In a major spot from the match, Roman Reigns went for the spear on Cody, but Seth pushed Cody out of the way and The Rock took the spear, instead. Seth was taken out by The Tribal Chief outside the ring after which The Rock pinned Cody Rhodes with a Rock Bottom followed by the People’s Elbow.

Roman Reigns to take on Cody Rhodes on Wrestlemania 40 Night Two
With this win, tonight’s Wrestlemania 40 Night Two main event between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship will be contested under The Bloodline rules which means interferences are bound to come in favor of the reigning champion. Given the family affair that it will be, he’s confident to retain and then move on to next year’s Show of Shows to feature in another main event.
Last night marked Roman Reigns’ eighth time headlining a WrestleMania while he will also claim the ninth one, tonight against Cody. Then during the post-Wrestlemania XL press conference, he was asked about being a staple of the main event scene at the grandest PLE when he talked about the 41st edition,
“I’m already thinking about 10. I’m thinking about the next one. I’m going to smash tomorrow night and then we’re going to move on. That’s how it is. That’s what greatness is. You know what I’m saying? We’re worried about the next goal.” (quotes courtesy Sescoops)
Giulia Signs With WWE To Appear At WWE NXT Stand And Deliver 2024
Being the top-most star on the WWE roster, Roman Reigns’ intention of headlining WrestleMania 41 should eventually become a reality. As of this writing, WWE is yet to publicly confirm the date or location of the event, though it is expected to go down in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Roman Reigns headlining Wrestlemania started in the year 2015 at the 31st edition where he would lose his WWE Championship match with Brock Lesnar, thanks to Seth Rollins cashing in Money in the Bank. With seven more main events followed since then, he currently boasts a 6-2 win/loss record in these matches at the biggest event of the year.
