Roman Reigns has been running the roost on WWE Smackdown for the past couple of years with Paul Heyman by his side. With The Usos getting aligned with him, The Head of the Table became even stronger as he remains to be the Universal Heavyweight Champion of the world. For almost two years, the top talent hasn’t lost in a match on WWE television which is an incredible feat.
Going by the recent reports, WWE is intending to increase the push towards Roman Reigns, even bigger way possible given how his merchandise figures keep on increasing. He’s now become the top-most heel merch-mover in the company, that’s on a similar level to that of a babyface John Cena. It’s unlikely that the reigning champion will drop the belt until Wrestlemania, next year.

After defeating Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel 2021, Roman Reigns is being rumored to face Drew McIntyre in a future championship match. The Scottish Warrior was chosen by the blue brand during this year’s draft who should become a force to reckon with. That obviously leads us to believe that a mega-clash with the champion will be waiting in the near future.

Drew McIntyre should put over Roman Reigns?
During a recent interview with Wrestling INC, former WWF referee Jimmy Korderas talked about the new SmackDown Superstar Drew McIntyre possibly being Roman Reigns’ next opponent for the Universal Championship. In his words, WWE should use McIntyre to elevate the champion to another next level,
“Drew McIntyre could be next on the card, and there is a way to get Drew over without him going over against Roman Reigns, as well.
I kind of feel sorry for Drew, in some respect, because he was pinned as ‘the guy’ last WrestleMania (in 2020). But at the same time, now, maybe it’s his time to help elevate Reigns.”

At this point, Survivor Series 2021 is likely to feature Roman Reigns vs. Big E in a Universal Champion vs. WWE Champion match in the main event slot of the evening. It’s possible that that Drew McIntyre will move on to face The Tribal Chief for the Universal Championship after the PPV gets over.
McIntyre has already been involved with Reigns in 6-man dark tag team matches in recent times. Also, not many top superstars is available on the Smackdown roster who could become the new challenger to the champion.
