Roman Reigns has been unleashing God mode on whoever dares to step against him in the WWE over the past couple of years. He’s been in a different league since his return to WWE back in 2020. He is the reigning Undisputed Universal Champion for almost 900 days, and fans aren’t even bothered about when he will end up dropping the titles. However, it should happen sooner or later given one champion, forever isn’t advised.
Undisputed WWE Titles to be split up
Going by the recent reports, it seems the company will be splitting up Roman Reigns’ titles by the time we reach WrestleMania 39. There are also rumors that this could happen in a forfeit fashion in order to keep the top superstar away from suffering a pinfall loss. After all, his mega Wrestlemania 39 match has to be secured against another top superstar from Raw or Hollywood.
Spoiler On Roman Reigns’ Match Schedule In WWE In Early 2023
The Tribal Chief has been a champion for two and a half years now and his dominance just continues to increase with each passing week. Fans also want Roman Reigns to be seen in full force where he could overcome some credible opponents to retain his title. Despite him working a part-time schedule as a double champion, there’s no lack of popularity for him as a champion.
Wrestlemania 39: WWE Reportedly Cancels Major Main Event Plans Around Roman Reigns
Alternative Wrestlemania match pitched for Roman Reigns
According to a report by Wrestling News, The Rock vs. Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 39 isn’t confirmed. If The Great One cannot make it to the show, then Cody Rhodes will challenge the champion for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. This is apparently a backup plan that WWE creative is pitching as an alternative if The Rock can’t indeed make it to The Show of Shows.
WWE obviously wants The Rock to be committed before the Royal Rumble to WWE programming which can get things started for the Road to WrestleMania 39 involving him and Roman Reigns. The WWE Championship match for WrestleMania 39 first night could witness Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre fighting for one of the titles while the other title could be on the line between Reigns and The Rock or Cody Rhodes. If these matches are any indications then the double champion status of Reign will change, after all.
It appears that WWE already knows how Roman Reigns will lose his two titles but they won’t declare it in quick fashion until WrestleMania 39 inches closer. We will have to wait and see on how things unfold on TV regarding this.
